The funny thing is, Grail-kun didn't lie to anyone. Shirou became a Heroic Spirit after by becoming a bad guy bounty hunter, Gil became "friends" with Kirei by stabbing someone together, and Kirei needed to kill Lancer to fill up the grail fully for himself and Gilgamesh. Grail-kun is really just a good helper!

I think in the whole series Lancer died at least once in every episode but the episode in which Kotomine complains with Sehai-kun about Lancer diying too much, that was it... or at least that's what i remember... so Lancer's death for that episode was on Kirei's hands
well no, the point is that he never became a "hero". becoming a servant not necessarily implies you achieved the "hero" status, well at least not the definition of hero that kiritsugu and archer wanted to be, none has ever done that.

Yeah i’m pretty suprised there wasn’t a followup clip where Shinji came back all beaten and burned and complained about how little it worked like he was returning a broken dish washer. Would have been interesting to see if grail-kun could give people any Other solutions to their problems than just kitchen knives.

Something I just realized. Archer is future Shirou, that's a given. Archer also became a Counter-Guardian after killing a whole lot of people. So I think while it doesn't show it Shirou actually took the Grail's advice to become a hero. That and for those of you who have played the Heaven's Feel route take a wild guess who the Grail's voice actor is. It is very appropriate I think.
Archer didn't become a Hero by killing a lot of people, he became a Hero by fighting a lot of proxy wars, conflicts, and doing missions and thus becoming a "Hero" to a lot of people. Did he kill people while doing this? yes its not just implied its explicitly said, but never is it said it was "he killed people => he became a hero"

I think this is one of the best jokes in Carnival Phantasm! It plays on the sadistic and murderous nature of the Holy Grail, since the Holy Grail has been tainted by Angra Manyu ( All the Worlds Evils) whose goal is to be reborn and kill all humanity. I love it! The grail's solution to everything? Fuckin kill em!
I like how at Emiya's scene its Archer's UBW outside, so its the scene where they fight and when archer says emiya can't be a hero, its technically canon to assume that emiya ran to sehai-kun for advice
