That was the first time I have seen goat on the menu. We ate it a lot when I was growing up. We used to raise cattle and had over 200 goats. My grandad used to say, cattle are for sellin'. Goats are for eatin'. They make great hamburgers.

this is great but do ya happen to also have a copy of the fun times so we can see what to expect for the daily planner for our cruise in march?

Yep! On our Carnival Pride Fun Times video that came out one day prior to this food video, there's a link to a PDF copy. It's for a 14-day Journeys cruise specifically, so if you're not on an extended sailing, you'll probably see a lot of things on there that won't be on your sailing. :P

Terrific video, as usual! A true throwback (on Throwback sea day) in the dining room would have the espresso and cappuccino complimentary for dessert, as that was the norm for many years in the MDR.

It's been an education looking at menus aimed at American taste. I've come across some of the dishes but had to look up loads. S'Mores cake is interesting, but I suspect one mouthful will take me over my daily sugar allowance. I thought Jonny Cakes were meant to be flat like a drop scone or hot cake. However, the oddest has to be Chicken Fried Steak. Can't help thinking this is a way to ruin a good steak, or perhaps only the tougher cut of beef is used. Do you choose how rare it is done? But having Chicken in the name is very misleading. My curiosity is pricked, I will have to seek this out when I nest go the States for holidays.

It's usually a super tough cut of beef that gets pounded thin, so frying it is about the only way to make it edible, ha ha... I think it's usually called a "cube steak" in our stores. It would be cooked well done, since it's so thin that the pink cooks out almost immediately.

I just can't get over the extra $20 for steak or lobster.

I guess that's to have a little bit of steakhouse experience in the dining room without having to pay the $38 per person charge for the actual steakhouse. But on a Journeys cruise, you get two lobster nights, plus there's a flat iron steak or something similar on the menu every single night, so that's good enough for us!! :P

Mike Wood 30904 you can get a rather tasty and tender flatiron steak every night at no cost. I gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was.. just saying oh and they do have a steak and lobster night on the regular menu.. you can order as many as you like. I ALWAYS order for just for me 😂

Strange, that's the way we've always done dinner menu videos. We have our regular Carnival Pride cruise vlogs where we go through our entire day, but we've already published all of those already.
