Took the Spirit to AK in 2006. The captain said it was his last sailing as he was retiring (after getting married to his Polynesian bride). Said he would make the trip worth while as he was taking us closer to the glaciers than he had ever gone. Thought it was part of the schtick but when we got there all the crew came running out to take pictures so maybe it was as he said. Oh, and took another Carnival cruise in 2009 to celebrate daughters graduation, hearing ship announcement it was the same captain. Apparently his marriage didn't work out and came back to work.
Just our personal preference, but we like the simple brass and dark wood decor of Princess ships. Jungle and Pharaoh themes really don't have a cruise ship vibe...unless you're cruising the Nile or Zambezi.
If you ever saw the Clue murder mystery presentation on Carnival when they had the Hasbro partnership, it was also delightfully corny, ha ha… good for the kiddos!! :P
Been so excited to watch this. We sail on the Spirit next summer and Dee and Jay always do a great job of getting us excited and prepared for our cruises!!!
Great to see the Spirit, we miss her in Australia! Just a FYI there is no smoking anywhere indoors on Australian sailings, not even in any part of the casino.
Good Morning. Looking forward to our Spirit cruise to Alaska in August 2023. Love the Spirit class. Question if I may - can you share where you stayed in Seattle prior to your cruise on the Spirit? Appreciate it. Thank you and safe travels.
I believe it had the Noodles bar at lunch which converted to a Seafood Corner for dinner. Same concept but it’s midship at one of the main buffet lines.
Looks great! I snagged an 'interior' on deck 4 with a huge window looking out at the lifeboats, lol. But you can also see the water, and at least get some sunlight in there. I'll be aboard in June, 1st time in AK, excited!
Yeah! More Alaska excursions.. i'll be going in September so i'm happy. Loce Dee when she's stepping onto the ship. I did similar dance back in March! Love your necklace Dee... that's a whale tail? Did you buy it on one of those ports?
So excited for this series! We cruised Carnival Spirit on the exact 8 day itinerary June 1-9. Love this ship and your video brought back so many wonderful memories! We attempted the Gold rush scavenger hunt. Did y’all find all the golden nuggets ? Love all your videos thank you!
Funny, the crew member at the coffeeshop said she could tell us where they all were, but we tried to find them ourselves. I think we only ended up finding five or six, ha ha...
@@natashamcintosh9027 I wish ships were moved more frequently, every year for Jacksonville since she is a one pier port…carnival could move between Jacksonville port Canaveral and Charleston to give home port people a chance to sail on different ships…I’ve done the fascination, escasty and elation more times than I’d like to admit
Hey y'all. Loved this video. Can't wait. This beauty coming to Mobile October of 23, and we're on her early December. It'll be our 1st balcony with 2 of our teenage grandchildren. Y'all have us anxious already. Thank you so much 💓
We are going on our first cruise, Bahamas, in Oct. Now we are talking about Alaska next and I said “yup I know parodeejay will have some videos on Alaska” hahaha. Love your videos!!
Love the tablecloths! Sailed the Spirit 9/5-9/12/2001 from Seward to Vancouver. We were stuck in Vancouver from Wednesday thru Friday due to 9/11. Very scary time but Carnival took very good care of us. Didn’t get home til Sunday due to no flights.
I was wondering, since your cabin was so close to the atrium, did you hear the music and people talking? We are looking to book a room near where yours is and would like to know if you feel it's ok to book it. Thank you so much. Love watching all your adventures.
I appreciate your vlogs. My next cruise is Oct 2023. It can't happen soon enough! I am watching your vlogs until then to pass the time. I went back and watched your 2019 Alaska videos too with Ricky & Laura and Favor & Rob.
I'm looking forward to the Spirit in January the only other ship I've been on in the Miracle and thats the same layout as well. different Decor and some areas look different but at least I'll be able to find my way around better now.
Great video and tour of the ship and port. We're sailing the same 8-day cruise on the Spirit on 10 Aug. This will be our first Alaskan adventure and we can't wait!! Thank you.
First of all, thank you for letting us enjoy your Alaska cruise, I look forward to the rest of your adventure. I'm leaving Seattle on September 12 on a cruise with the Norwegian Spirit. Now my question is, do you maybe know if there is a possibility to have a covid test taken in the cruise port itself. Otherwise I'll have to find a other place where I can have this done, because we'll be in Seattle as of September 9th and the test should not be older than 48 hours. Hoping for an answer, greetings from Belgium.
Thank you so much for this preview of the Carnival Spirit. I will be boarding her in 35 days! We have almost the same itinerary except we dont go to Icy Straight Point. On this trip we are also taking my stepson Mark on his very first cruise. So excited and looking forward to the videos in this series. I love all of your adventures! From a Virginian as well, Sandy
Kinda love all the quirky themes on this ship. We are looking at sailing Alaska next summer on here or maybe on the luminosa. Thank y’all for sharing y’all’s adventures. 🚢
It was nice meeting you two on the cruise. One day I was just searching youtube looking at cruise videos, I think about two months ago and came across your channel. So funny to meet you in person on the Spirit. My husband and I went on our first cruise on the Spirit back in 2004 and then we took a 10 year break from cruising. We started again in 2014 and have not stopped since. You guys are so nice in person just like on your channel. Thank you for taking a picture with me. Happy cruising!!
I'm going on my 1st Alaskan cruise in 35 days and I've been enjoying all of your past Alaskan cruise vlogs, so it's great that you're starting a new series. Too bad you're not on my cruise so I could meet you guys but thanks for all of the great vids. Stay safe!
Love love loving your videos. Feels like I am right there with you. I will continue to live vicariously through you until my next cruise on the Splendor later this month. Dee's Alaska outfit video was so helpful. Glad to see someone likes taking pictures of their food as much as I do. Jay's quirky comments about everything are such a HOOT! It's like he is looking out through the eyes of a child and just says the first thing that comes to his mind. Keep it up! Hope to meet the two of you one day.
Wow! Absolutely loving you guys, this is a great, I feel like I am there with you. Loving the caper game, my son is the guy that came on first. Really looking forward to your next videos and any you do of the shows, it’s the only way I get to see him. The ship looks great with lots to explore, can’t wait to see what you get up to on sea day. Have fun!
So glad to see you explore Carnival Spirit, since she's the ship we'll be sailing on in November. Since the sports bar opened up into the smoking section of the casino, did it smell like cigarettes in the sports bar? Excited for the rest of this series!
the ship in the game room is Millenium Falcon from Star War not Star Trek you two went to Disney World and Hollywood studio 2 or 3 year ago and you two did vlog to
Morning! Love when Dee first steps on a ship. Really like the Blue Iguana for breakfast (I should say pre breakfast). Lol. Can't wait to see all your adventures.
Meh, we'll get there eventually, ha ha... first goal: complete the *Carnival* fleet... second goal: sail every ship in the world!! :O #EvenTheOnesInLongIsland
It's a game that passengers play with each other. Hiding rubber ducks around the ship for other folks to find, then they can keep them or re-hide them somewhere else. There's a whole Facebook group called "Cruising Ducks" dedicated to the game!! :D
@@parodeejay Thanks! Hard to be a "repetitive" Caribbean cruise . . . in different countries that contain various cultures, and in which one can snorkel with turtles. Cannot wait!
@@parodeejay lol...i said something DIFFERENT ;) I love your videos btw, I live vicariously via you because I can't go, so all in good fun. I know it's expensive!
