I have always went on cruises with my mother. She passed away 5 years ago. This is my first time going without her and going with my own family my husband and my children. I'm so excited and I hope my family is too. This is their Christmas present.

Sunshine is the best 100k ton ship in Carnival's fleet. She has a ton of amenities, perennially great crews, great captain, nice rooms and the guests aboard her tend to be less rowdy than ships like Magic or Liberty
I’ve been blessed to have sailed on this ship 3 times. First time in 2010 when it was Carnival Destiny, and twice after the refurbishment / transformation to Carnival Sunshine in 2014 and 2017. This is truly a beautiful ship filled with so much fun.

this same make over will be done to the carnival victory in 2020 maybe a few minor changes but mainly the same i am happy to see they are saving and redoing these great ships
Hi Richard, thanks for watching. Carnival recently transformed the Carnival Triumph into the Carnival Sunrise. Although is was a similar update like Carnival Sunshine, many aspects were changed including the layout of the waterpark, serenity adult retreat and other onboard features. Next year, Carnival will be updating the Carnival Victory and renaming her Carnival Radiance which will be almost identical to Carnival Sunrise.
I went on my 1st cruise on this boat and it was wonderful. The crew fun squad and crew was a blast. I'm currently rebooking for this year with family. ❤❤❤
So I'm too terrified to watch any actual footage of the horrendous storm this ship went thru last May, 🤯🤯😢 which might also have this answer ... but has anyone been on the ship since then? And would you day that for all the destruction and chaos that must have been done to the inside and especially the outside of the ship, that it was obviously fixed and nothing is currently in sub par condition due to that storm damage??
Hi dreawint, thanks for watching. Cruise ships are pretty tough and this is not the first nor the last ship to experience rough seas. I'm sure repairs were completed where necessary, but I suggest to visit some cruise forums and post your concerns to those that have cruised onboard this ship in the past several months.

@TalkingCruise Thanks! I've seen the basic layout for similar rooms--Category 4D I think it's called. But I was hoping to see if someone stayed in this particular room 5355 so I could know for sure a couple things. I'm basically wanting to know 1) if The shower has the usual diagonal cut off shape, Or is one of those nice fuller rectangular shapes. 2) some rooms seem to have a bigger, fuller desk, some even stand alone and some appear to be condensed and cut off diagonally. 3) i heard that there are actually outlets under the bed forbthr bedside lamps. True? And its only the european one? So we just need special adapter?
This Ship was in hurricane Mitch and tossed something fierce. 5 days at sea and everything stunk and everyone was sick. Only slightly redeemed with a stop at Ochos Rios. $4,000 cruise - worst 7 days. Never cruise again.
Hi Just Imagine, thanks for watching. Doesn't sound like the fun trip you likely envisioned. Storms happen, especially if you book within hurricane season (Jun-Nov) you must be prepared for the possibility of changes/cancelation to itineraries, rough weather or both. It seems that your trip turned you off cruising, but maybe try again during the winter/spring months.

Am I the only one that thinks the added rooms on top of the ship just looks odd? Weird design choice in my opinion. However, the Sunshine looks like an awesome ship.

It’s a really pretty ship - I wish it had more “cool colors” like lighter taupes and blues and greens. All the dark oranges and yellows seem really 70s in style (for those of us that remember the 70s). Love the Shake Shop colors! But the amenities and layout are nice and convenient 🚢. Great video to show her off ❤️
what is the best way to get to the port never sailed out of charleston, thinking about booking a Carnival journey cruise, not sure how to get to and from airport and from hotel to cruise port
Hi Linda, thanks for watching. Distance from Charleston airport to cruise port is not too far (20 minutes), so taxi or ride share service would be easy. Not sure what hotel you are thinking about, but some might offer shuttles.

Hi Carly, thanks for watching. I was just onboard the Carnival Elation this past Saturday and they had the entire atrium decorated. I also know for a fact that all Carnival ships are decorated for Halloween and they have special activities as well. Absolute worst carnival ship I've been on by far of 8. They added cabins to accommodate 600 more people on a boat not built for it. Extremely over crowded, cant find lounge chairs, rooms for comedians or shows fit very few people, the serenity pool looks like a kiddie pool converted to an adult only. Good luck finding room there or enjoy shoulder to shoulder at the other pool full of kids. It was local and a new ship, will never go on that boat again. Made me decide to try a different cruise line.
Hi David, thanks for watching. Yes, they did add many additional rooms, but many cruises lines are adding a lot of extra capacity when their ships go into dry dock.
Yea I totally agree. I've been on 3 carnival cruises and sunshine was the worst ship by far. I did the 5 day cruise this past december to D.R. and Turks n Caicos. The food was horrible. Nothing much to do on the ship. It was awful. The buffet was basically inedible every night
Sailing on the liberty made me try celebrity .that's my favorite right now.im not looking forward to cruising the sunshine .but I paid with carnival gift cards so I'm stuck.carnival has gone down hill last 10 years.
@@TalkingCruise I last went on this ship in 2009 when it was the destiny. Since then I haven’t. Some of it has to do with the effects of Covid on the airline industry. Pre Covid I just had to hop on a flight to Minneapolis, or Chicago, then to Charleston. Now I have to connect in Minneapolis to get to Atlanta, and then from Atlanta I fly to Charleston. United Airlines doesn’t fly out of my city anymore. Hopefully things change soon.
it was a nice Cruise black there's a few things that was wrong at and they are the water pressure on the 6th floor with very low a strong smell over by the ice cream bar on the 9th floor
