I was fortunate to do the same, those memories become present when I hear songs like these, I only wish someone would realize that a lot of us in our 60’s & 50’s would flock today to any club that would remotely resemble those places we remember so fondly
Midnight love affair by Carol Douglass emphasis the best in Dico track during the 70s. A love story told by music. I will forever be dancing to this cut. As long as I live.
I fell in love so many times with my dancers, the greatest time of my life, next to joining the Air Force in 1979, to all of us who are still here, enjoy the memories.
I agree! I no longer own a radio because of trash music🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮. I grew up on oldies and I want to vomit at what's called "music" these days. I last owned a radio in my late 20's (2014).
Great song and great memories...I Loved the disco Era...was working at one of Arthur Murray's dance studios...spent many hours on the dance floor...disco Era short lived but so much fun !
I remember, starting back in the ‘90s, I started to feel a bit “stuck” musically because the newer stuff didn’t quite do it for me. This feeling became stronger as the years went on, and I’m happy to say that today it no longer bothers me at all. This is superb music - beautifully sung and arranged by real people with human voices playing real instruments. It’s a wonderful mixture of R&B, jazz and pop that touches the heart and soul. Carol Douglas should have been a superstar. She always will be in my book.
❤ carol Douglas wZ the song in the club zanbar in Newark NJ. 80 music yez lord dancing alnite till the club close.miss this kind of music my brother is a dj.and he plays all them classic music 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊🙂

"Midnight Love Affair" is a 1976 song by Carol Douglas from the album of the same name. Along with the track "Crime Don't Pay", the song went to number one for one week on the Billboard disco/dance chart.[1] The single failed to chart on either the Billboard Hot 100 or the R&B chart. "Midnight Love Affair" was written in French by Pierre Groscolas and Michel Jourdan ("Ma jeunesse au fond de l'eau"), adapted in English by Estelle Levitt and produced by Eddie O'Loughlin.
Amazing song..if there is an artist with music talent out there, this song is a gold mine. Salsa, a slow jam, jazz, what ever sound you want to do just keep the words ...You will be in the limelight of your dreams. Sing it MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love Marisa
Me and Jessica blasting this (and others) on the boombox in the Schoolyard and doing the Hustle for hours! That's why we didn't need Gyms and all that other BS. We stayed FIT just by hangin' out with the girls and dancing, or playing ball with the guys.
There used to be a radio station that broadcasted from the Jersey Shore on the weekends that played disco music. That was where I first heard this song. I'm 39-years old, but this music reigns supreme!
Saludos from México. It's really a shame that we all have this kind of opinion about the music that is sounding now on the radio. I really love and miss that era
I was only 12 in 1977 but when this played on the radio I stopped in my tracks! No idea what the song meant, but the music filled my soul! #DiscoSavedMyLife
This song reminds me of a Disco called The Dôme in Montreal, Qc. located on Sherbrokke Street East. The best times of our lives and evreyone was dresses to kill on weekends (hairdo and all the works to look great) met good people there and the music was fantastic (DJ Carl was the best in disco music) THANKS FOR ALL THE MEMORIES! We should organize A BIG DISCO BASH IN QUEBEC NEXT SUMMER.
U R so right, I love it an it takes me back to those days just being happy, I wish I can meet some one that's on my level.keep that mind working God bless.
She could've been top cookie at this time BUT remember, Gloria Gaynor was at her peak at this time, Donna summer was comin up strong as a new beginner, and Aretha franklin, Philis Hyman, stopped recording but was still on top for female recoding artists, Diana Ross,Patti Labelle, Dione Warwick was still cutting records selling and has already made a name for themselves, it was very hard to go on top with this kind of competition even with the female singers singing at this time I didn't mention. First choice, love unlimited, Gladys knight and the pips not counting because they sang corporately with groups , Tina turner, Chaka Kaun, Minnie Riberton, Natali Cole, Candi Stanton, and last but not least Cissy Houston, and others I failed to mention. Barbara Staisan, Karen Carpenter, Cher, would be considered but not exactly R +B soul artists but included by most,, sort of crossover R+ B. But TOP NOTCH HALL OF FAME FEMALE SINGERS at best, Carol Douglas,s popularity will alway be remembered for her recordings.
Hello All and my Google+ friends. This is a wonderful track, And it is nice to know that Unidisc has preserved many of the best hit's of Carol Douglas. We love Unidisc! I have this greatest hits compilation CD and it's fantastic. If you get the chance look up the full length "Midnight Love Affair Suite" It is a disco masterpiece. There are copies on RU-vid but if it sounds bad close it and search for a good copy, they are out there in RU-vid Land. The Midland International Release is a floor shaker. Originally released on Carol Douglas Debut Vinyl "LP" in 1975, Midnight Love Affair, was also recorded by Tony Orlando & Dawn in 1976. OK I know many are thinking NO Tom, Doctors Orders was her debut. That would be true as far as that "single" released in 1974. Look Up "Baby Don't Let This Good Love Die" was B. Side of "Doctors Orders" it is also on this Unidisc Compilation,. Awesome Track!
@@paulreuben7343 yes French singer Pierre Robert Groscolas wrote the lyrics for midnight love affair in French originally. He also went by Paul Wyler and had several albums in the 70s
