Hi! This has been quite a year. Thank you to everyone who's taken the time to watch and subscribe! 2020 has had it's challenges, but I firmly believe that 2021 will hold many blessings and loads of growth.
Carol of the bells is a composition with a bunch of interesting history. Before it was a Christmas song, it twas composed by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych. It was initially based on the folk chant "Shchedryk" loosely translating to "bountiful". The song tells the story of a swallow that visits a household to show that the family will have a plentiful year. I only found this out after I did my arrangement, but I could not imagine a better Image for 2021. It has to be one of my favorite compositions, and I know I'm not alone. Pentatonix, Linsey Stirling, the Piano guys, pretty much everyone on RU-vid has done a version of this. I aimed to have the arrangement be hopeful, while acknowledging how hard it is to be hopeful at time of writing.
