Mira Mesa High School Band Christmas Concert. The best Carol of the Bells on the Net by a high school band!
Christmas perfomance by the great Mira Mesa High School Sapphire Sound band under the direction of Ms. Jeanne Christensen - December 13, 2007.
Carol of the Bells for your listening pleasure. Video-taped using the FLIP video camera. The video is shaky because there was no video stand to keep the video still. The sound is very good though.
This is the MMHS Marching Band performing the Winter Concert. This is not the MMHS Concert Band.
Marching Season is first semester from September through January.
Concert Season is second semester from January through June.

NOTES FROM WIKI:
"Carol of the Bells" (also known as the "Ukrainian Bell Carol" or as "Ring Christmas Bells") is a choral miniature work originally composed by the Ukrainian composer and orthodox priest Mykola Dmytrovych Leontovych.
Savatage and side project The Trans-Siberian Orchestra have done a popular remake entitled "Christmas Eve Sarajevo (12/24)" that plays on many radio stations around Christmas."
So take your pick. Does this sound like the original Carol of the Bells or the rock version of Carol of the Bells entitled "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo" by TSO? If the music sounded like TSO's version, then that is grand! All they needed is the electric guitar and piano.

I'm a clarinet player and we are doing Star Wars, Darth Vader Imperial March, Carol of the bells, joy to the world, dreidel, and Jingle Bells combined! I love Carol of the Bells and this is amazing!!

love the sound! that's an amazing sound for a marching band, very dramatic! love it! what i do have to say something negative about is the expression of the director. she could have put more emphasis on the climactic points of the piece herself. props to the band though for have the feeling of the music down in their soul, they know what their doing no joke. but the director should give cues to when things happen, otherwise the band could get used to it and not follow later cues when given.

This is absolutely amazing! My concert band is playing this and we'd never be able to get the amount of sound you guys got! We have about 70-some in our whole band! There is great balance throughout. And I could hear the low reeds which are often overpowered by the high parts!

We are playing this this year and we unfortunately have to play in a gym as well because our band like this one is too large to play in an auditorium with a stage big enough. And I understand and hate how the acoustics in gyms are they make everything long and echo anyway great job guys! Very strong band as a whole

Were doing this is Middle School band, but it start with the 1st trumped doing the melody, and the second trumpet jumping in 4 measures later, but I honestly think our sounds better.

Wow... They did awesome! I want our band to do this, but they dont care enough to make it sound good. And we also have problems with dynamics because our concerts are played in our gym and our gym echos REALLY bad so each dynamic sounds 10 times louder than we really play it, so mf, f, and ff sound exactly the same...
