Carol of the Bells | Solo Hammered Dulcimer | Acoustic Instrumental Holiday Music 

My precious husband was teaching himself how to play the hammered dulcimer. He passed away before he was able to master it. I thought what he did play sounded very good. I miss listening to him practice. That was 15 years ago. I am happy to listen to others play this beautiful instrument. It makes me smile.❤

I heard Joshua play the hammered dulcimer live years ago and was absolutely amazed at what he could do with that thing!! Not just the standard Appalachian sound, but really beautiful and unusual sounds.

This is gorgeous! I love listening to (and watching) you play Joshua. I have wanted a hammered dulcimer for years and have acquired one recently (a 12/12). Being able to play your version of carol of the bells is a definite goal for me (I'm still picking up the basics so a little way off)!

Fantastic. I love the sound of dulcimer and personally use a software dulcimer emulation quite often in my recording studio for my own compositions. This guy is amazing. This clip is particularly good for me as it is one of my favourite pieces of seasonal music.

Amazing performance! Carol of the Bells has Ukrainian origin (you can google it), as far as the hammered dulcimer, which is one of the Ukrainian national instruments. Nice to know they are that popular!

You're so talented. I can't believe how a hammered dulcimer is so uncommon. I would've started learning to play it a long time ago. I want to learn to play every instrument that's in a symphony orchestra. I play strings and percussion already. Now I'm learning flute. How many octaves does a hammered dulcimer have, and can I locate one at any music store? I also realized that notes are kind of arranged randomly. Is that true?

Awesome! Always loved string instruments. Never have had time to learn one. Someday if I don't get to old first, ha ha.
