I play for a living in a symphony orchestra. We had closed out our season with a Mahler 2 series that was smoking, so I was excited to hear Crown's arrangement and playing of this first part of the show. It was electrifying! This is my favorite modern-era DCI show. The tubas playing the bass theme… spread out like that… just wow!
Listening to this makes me realized how good they are at playing. It sounds almost exactly to the recording. For half of the show I thought it was the show but on a frame so they don’t get copyrighted
The theme is essentially "a second chance". Theres a guard girl that members of the hornline are trying to get a second chance with and that shows up multiple times throughout the show. She ends up with the green dude from last years show. The music is also only second movements and they march the drill of the closer from last year. Pretty neat stuff
I completely understand that a member had a gruesome injury near the end of this show, but what I've always wondered is if the musical program always had the pre recorded rewind sound there or did that become a permanent feature due to the inability to show the injury? Can anyone educate me on this?
