Unlike many people, I don't mind the vocals being there, although I think they need to change some balancing with it in the ballad, make the sound more 50/50 instead of more vocal volume than horn line.
It could've been the speakers in the Houston show too. I know from my HS days playing at the stadium that the speakers are behind one endzone and I was sitting for DCI on the other side of the field
Justin Boncosky The Vocals ruin the show and they shouldn't be in shows, neither should strings. People need to remember, it isn't called "Drum and Bugle Corp" for nothing
InnocentTopHat people also said that about electronics when dci first started allowing them. But they now hold a very important part to most dci shows. It's just change and some people like it and other don't. And hey we're all allowed to have our own opinions on things
Celeste Roe yes, unfortunately most corps rely on electronics far too much. yep, some change is good and some change is not. 'just change' sounds so inconsequential when it indeed usually has great consequences. yes, to each their own indeed.
y'all complain too much, the vocals are great. it is actually part of the piece playing at the end, "no one to know one", but I guess no one actually took the time to look up stuff before they talk right.
seems like the vast majority don't like the vocals. (myself included) just sayin' it here as a point of reference for the future... in case any Crown staff happen to read these comments.
If they actually get any of these comments they aren't going to care. The vocals add so much to the show based on the concept. If the show had no vocals originally, and was arranged that way it wouldn't be as good as it is right now. There are problems withe the vocals such as the vocalist not being expressive enough and the vocals being to loud, but the concept wouldn't have anything to stand on without these vocals. They give you the message the corps is trying to put onto the field.
Nice to see you still uploading stuff, Paul. Bummed you are aged out and I won't be able to probably meet you at NightBEAT. Definitely had fun watching you guys two years ago. Still trying to meet up with MrGhostSir at least once before he ages out too. Thanks for keeping the Crown love going.
For someone who caught the drum corps bug a little too late, thanks for giving us your personal experiences. I had fun watching you and the rest of Crown Guard when you were still in.
The ballad needs the vocals but the ending movements could def do without. I think it's a great musical piece but too much vocals in my opinion at the end
XDDDDDDDDDDD ANYONE ELSE THAT THINKS VOCALS ARE TRASH XDDDDD also drum and bugle corps btw why do we have contras, a pit, mellos, and baris? omg it needs to be what it's called XDDDD
i think the real problem is that the vocalist is not expressive enough. especially their recent performance at broken arrow, she just seemed bored (especially that "i know you" at the end)
Are you talking about the little bend of the notes between syllables? Because I thought that was really enjoyable and added a small flare to the phrase
