Their intonation is what I also found so very impressive. Is perfect pitch required of these young players to be a member? They certainly seem to have the gift.
BRO! What a coincidence! One of our Baritone techs aged out at crown 2019. And one during brass block I heard him say “Baritones think DAAAAARK CHOOOOOCOLATE”
I love Crown, been following them since 1985, watched tremendous growth and development of the Corps over time, to include this multi-award winning horn line. For some reason, I couldn't get the 2019 show....I may be off by miles, but I didn't feel 100% buy in by the performers. Not to say they didn't perform brilliantly (they always do, because they can), I just didn't feel the emotional connection I feel when I'm watching a crown show. Technically clean? as usual. perfect intonation, pitch, full brass sound as always, battery and guard included. I just didn't connect with this show, and I kind of feel they didn't either. This Corps can play the hell out of whatever they're given, obviously, but I can tell when they really connect with the story and the music, and I just couldn't this season.
Hi Scrappy, I’m a new Sub.....thx for your channel! Oh and how brilliant is it to teach your talent to sing 🎤 what they’re to play for pitch perfect tone???!!!!!!
Loved the woman in the green jacket ducking down to get into the inner circle- reminds me of when someone is ducking their head when entering the danger zone of a helicopter or was she bowing in homage to being amongst Greatness. What says you?
