What’s up guys !! So I recorded a video of me treating my Carolina logger boots with huberds shoe oil !! And adding a thick layer of KG’s boot guard !! Since the front toe area was taking a beating from me kicking off dirt !! But I’m sure this toe guard will definitely add some more life to the toe area overall !! And I’m sure huberds shoe oil will be helping a ton as far as waterproofing the leather . it already seems to be doing a great job as far as conditioning leather . I was first introduced to these boots when I did landscaping right after highschool ! There were recommended to by a coworker of mine and haven’t used any other boots besides muck boots for winter and wet conditions and Carolinas them selves truly worth a try if you are in the field a lot first time buying the steal toe and love them already as well !! Thank you guys for watching !!

Those are pretty much throw away boots. Not they’re bad . They definitely do the job, it’s just from my experience I’d trash them after a year. A new pair is basically about what a basic resole go’s for.

nice work, came out great! I've never seen either of these products. I usually just grease some mink oil on my boots and wipe off the eccess a couple times a week or at least once a month.

did you need an orthotic insert for your loggers?

I did not , the first few times they are super hard to get used to . Feels like I’m falling foward and boots itself are a little uncomfortable. Up untill you break them in . Recently I’ve been getting a little too tired with them on thinking of adding some type of soles to make them more comfortable!! Great boots though highly recommend

Very impressive but the toes look like doodoosquat esthetically. No way to smooth out? I use Hubberd’s but the toe treatment was an eye opener. Good job. A “labor of love”. Thanks for posting.

It does look bad haha I thought the same about the look . But the to guard I bought . Is some type of texture it has like rough bumps as you can see similar to the rhino liner that goes on trucks , but holds up really really well I kick brick step with the toe of the boot to shake off the mud from the bottom of the boot and the toe doesn’t look damaged one bit

Definitely not great looking for dress/casual boots but looks fine imo for work use boots

Oh yea definitely not these are my work boots shoe oil is fine for work or causal boots but the toe guard I wouldn’t expect it to be on a causal boot as it isn’t taking a big beating

Man I love these boots !! Since buying this style boot I have not bought anything other then these I have some mucks for snow and mud but these Carolinas are truly truly what boots should be. They take a little breaking in being that the heal is high but once you have worn them a couple times you’ll love them !! Go for them !

Put the oil on the sponge 1st!!
@CITYHILLBILLYS
@CITYHILLBILLYS Год назад
I would but it doesn’t provide a sponge that fits into the bottle so i used the smallest sponge brush i could find . Which is for painting trim lol

@@CITYHILLBILLYS I gotcha lol. The sponge is definitely a good idea. I've done it that way before I just prefer to use my fingers. I've been debating getting huberds shoe grease. I've seen people say its more of a water proofer than a conditioner and that the pine tar keeps the leather from being able to breath and blah blah blah but I also see lots who swear by it and been using it forever! And have boots that are 10, 20+ years old. So who knows. I use obenaufs normally but I have quite a few products. I just ordered smiths leather balm and ll beans boot guard. I love my bean boots and just got a couple vintage pair from Ebay. I know the is a lit out there but people seen to love the boot guard. Esp for their bean boots. We shall see! Can't wait to try both of them out. Huberds I will have to try for myself soon. Just because why not..or maybe I'll get the oil. We'll see. Thanks man!
