I'm seeing sweet Caroline as a finalist. She's living it on that floor. Her passion shone through tonight.

She’s fantastic and I think the public are going to fall in love with her journey, her sat crying in the floor day 1 rehearsals was powerful and just on a personal level they’re probably have my favourite partnership. FAB-U-LOUS

Johannes has become my favourite pro. He did not put it easy, a lot of footwork and steps. Caroline is incredible, maybe not 100% technic there, but her attitude and acting have no comparison. I hope they go far on the competition.

I love to watch him dance. And his choreography is always so flattering for his celeb. BBC and SCD made a FANTASTIC decision to hire him! Love from the USA

What a gorgeous first dance. And the great thing is you can tell that she is loving every second and worked so hard. The only thing I'd say is that I would have liked to have seen her finish off her lines. However, for week one she did an amazing job and I genuinely cannot wait to see what she does next. Potentially, she's the dark horse of the competition this year.

This was one of the most breakthrough dances of the night being the oldest this year and getting 3rd on the leader board with an 19 and 21 year old is awesome this was such a good American smooth and her lifts were beautiful. 7/10

Great partnership which should do very well this year, plus caroline has been partnered with the next star of strictly Johannes.

Absolutely loved this, I agree with the judges about the beautiful lines of her arms and musicality. The footwork will come with a little practice, but i just love how happy and excited and a little bit tearful Caroline was to be there dancing on Strictly.

I'm absolutely Caroline Quentin. I think she is a truly lovely person. she is just so down to earth. I love her in men behaving badly and I've always been a fan of her. enjoying watching her on strictly.

I really loved this routine, beautiful choreography Johannes, perfectly executed by Caroline, well done for week 1. I also noted how she pointed her toes when she did the little flicks at the beginning of the dance, a definite sign that she has had dance training in the past, some things never leave you!

This made me cry in a good way, on the rehearsal clip when she cried I started crying too, and you can see she's danced before, she's in my top three, I love her, she's so precious

Such an elegant dancer

I was expecting a dud, but Caroline this was goooooddd!!!! Lovely execution and elegant footwork for week one. Plus, the dismounts with the lifts were great as well. She gives me a vibe of Debbie McGee when she was on the show. I just feel at peace when I see her dance. Can't wait till next week. *7*

Her ballet lessons as a kid has kept with her. Nice lines and finishes and good frame hold. Just needs to get herself more close and attached to the pro and keep on his right side when in hold. Very nice dancing for the first week and great musicality Caroline. She will go far. Was so delightful to see how much she enjoyed it. That's what it is all about. Keep it up Caroline.

Her toes were so well pointed at the start this was so beautiful to watch and Carolin has to be one of my three favourites. Can really see her going far. Xx

After seeing Caroline in the launch show i had a sneaking suspicion that she was going to be good. She has brilliant musicality and finishes all her lines brilliantly. I think she was a tad nervous tonight, so I can’t wait to see how she can dance when she is more confident in her own ability 7/10 (Also, as much as it is a nice thought, I am not a fan of the CGI that they included this week - it didn’t match with the expensive look that strictly has 😬)

Caroline is amazing but I do think she will only do well at the Waltzy numbers but I hope I'm wrong. Johannes has worked her hard!!. Her lines were fantastic, lovely heal leads and footwork in general. Her musicality is impeccable to say the least, her topline is great too. What I would like her to work on is body contact and posture, they weren't the sharpest. But great travel in and out of lifts and I thought she danced that from her heart and soul. These two and there chemistry is just so heartwarming to watch, she genuinely is excited and I love that. Great great great potential. *7/10*

She has quite surprised me! It was truly such a lovely dance. She was resonating with tender and joy of dancing. Her frame was absolutely wonderful, her head position was excellent and the whole thing was so light and bright. The lifts and the transitions between the step were fantastically smooth. However, on the negative side, there was a little gapping while she was in hold, there was no sway, she needed to push her toes even more into the floor while moving backwards and she missed one or two heel leads while stepping forward. Haven't said that, her acting, her feel for the music, her top line and her frame, her lightness on the feet and her partnership with Johannes - all of that have created a really sweet American Smooth. My score: a 6.

They are definitely one of my favourite partnerships this series they have amazing chemistry together! You can see how much she loves dance just by watching this routine, and she is a natural in dance really hoping they go far in the competition and Johannes is the best partner for her! I feel like she would be more of a Ballroom dancer rather than in Latin but I might be wrong! Perhaps her footwork and frame was a little off could use a little work but she sure is such an elegant dancer. 7!

I thought Caroline and Johannas were great! I would have liked to hear what the judges thought but sadly it was not in the video.

She was really surprising! I think she'll get quite far actually, at least halfway! They seem really good together too.

I just want to see Caroline do a Charleston. I think as an actress she will really sell it.

This was an extremely competent first dance. Her dancing was beautiful. Not perfect dancing (I spotted a few technical things that went a bit wrong) but overall, Caroline was wonderful in that dance. 7!

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed that performance, and she honestly exceeded my expectations. I guess it's my inner Len Goodman coming out, but that was a proper ballroom dance and she performed it with such a charm. It was a delight, even if she needs to work on her timing. I expect good things out of her. (6)

Oh WOW! Given I am American and know none of these celebrities, I was VERY surprised to see that Caroline had such beautiful technique. Does she have experience? Beautiful lines and fairly minimal gapping for a first week performance. Good characterization and great performance quality, as well as smooth transitions with the lifts, and she seems super comfortable on the floor. It's going to be interesting to see what Johannes can do with her this year! 7!
