I would absolutely love going to Alveus and meeting all of those animals. Even the spiders and roaches. I feel like Maya does an amazing job easing people into meeting some of the scarier insects.

I feel like the fear towards snakes is an evolutionary thing, other primates exhibit very similar fears towards snakes so it seems as we evolved there was no real reason for us to lose this instinctive fear or aversion so we still carry it to this day. Nowadays it's not really a rational fear but for our ancient ancestors it was advantageous to instinctively avoid snakes.

IMHO the best thing to learn out of all the awesome things taught would be: Caroline wishes she was shorter, Maya wishes she was taller; no matter what, there is no "perfect", the grass always looks greener on the other side and it is just important to accept yourself.

1:03:27 Mid 20th century is when things seriously turned. I mean, coming out of the Great Depression and then WWII where every American was expected to ...and did... ration and eating stuff like beef and pork was a once a week thing, THEN the 50s come along. The 50s were all about prosperity and idealism. Fast Food comes a long soon after and McDonalds becomes huge.

One day I herd one of my new housemates screaming from downstairs saying that there was a snake in the laundry. It wasn't a snake, it was just a blue-lounge lizard who I then caught and released into our backyard. I tried to get my scared housemate to have a look/pat, but they didn't like reptiles. X)
