Hi everybody,
Time for another archetype. This week I'm going to be blending a couple of archetypes that are from what you could think of as an archetypal family, if you will. I'm going to focus on the wanderer and the explorer, because these two archetypes have a lot in common, and yet, they are unique.
Personally, I don't want to explore things at the physical level. I have no desire to do that. But wandering and exploring at the inner level, or the psychic level is a different thing entirely. That's a different journey. That's the interior journey. That's the journey that I think far more people can relate to than deciding they want to hike up the side of, you know, an unknown mountain or something.
I wish you treasures, gobs and gobs of treasures at a new inner treasure hunt. And wandering about the domain of the wondrous world behind it.
With love,
Caroline

It's so rare that I hear someone talk about inner space. Inner space exploring has been a theme during over a decade of healing, exploring consciousness through different practices during illness while living in different environments and having multiple rebirths. I've felt like a wanderer physically but internally it has been a vast exploration of the innerspace and interconnectedness of all. Thank you for these archetypes.

Thank you for this video

Finally my archetype 😻! Thank you Hermana for your time and energy on this. What I get from wandering is I’m making patterns on the land with my energy, connecting with the ancestors wherever I go because we have presence (gifts) for one another. When I went to Kauai for my bday I felt so guilty, I was invited by a friend that lives there. But, I knoW how the Native Hawaiians (for the most part) feel about tourism, but I had to go! The island pulled my angst towards white people out of me. I used to suffer so much from that separation. New Mexico shows me enchanting encounters are possible, mystical beyond my LA experiences. Thailand helped to heal my sacral. Iceland crowned my crown with the Aurora and Elvish energies- I got to play and feel so safe because I’m always alone in my travels. Greece showed me how to stand up for myself with men in a way that honors my grace. Mexico slaps me around a bit when I’m on my bullshit. There’s more, but yes I’m patterning and flitting about in my purpose being held by invisible forces. I’m from LA and here I’m a professional Overnight petsitter that doesn’t pay rent and is just fully booked most of the time being paid to live on the west west side of my motherland.

I am a wanderer internally and externally. Mystic. Nomad. I spent years in the same city, degree, job and I love the freedom of constantly mixing it up and moving on when it's time or when the energy doesn't feel right.

Caroline, I notice a vastly different energy from you when you're teaching from your computer about archetypes than when you're teaching in an environment with people sitting around you. You are so grounded and yet connected to inner worlds during lessons on archetypes. The insights I get from your archetype lessons are enormously & exponentially valuable. Thank you!

The Wanderer archetype makes me think of one of my favorite films - Lasse Halstrom's "Chocolat" and the main character, Vien, who inherited her wandering patterns, for better and for worse, from her mother. It's a beautiful and very magical story.

I have been an inner space wanderer since childhood. I began with dreams and playing in the undeveloped parcels around my childhood home. I also wandered and travelled in church. I would feel myself just talk off into the world of saints. It was precious and guided only by my true spirit.

Thank you. I really enjoyed this talk. It has been a life long struggle for me that I feel trapped or imprisoned by any situation that take over my freedom. I loved my babies and children dearly but it was extremely difficult to stay totally committed to my family, though I was a single parent for 9 years after I could bot remain trapped with that abusive husband. Now feeling trapped again because I have a family member with me who wont leave. . I am 72.selling my house and going exploring. I know I will probably need up caring for others. It seems to be what makes me commit. 🙏❤

Dear Carolyn, I opened this video 14s after it was posted. Calling to me - your guidance - as this is me… the wanderer still at 71! At another key juncture - but headed towards rather than running away. Responding instead of reacting. Anyway, as we all know there are no coincidences. Many thanks for your guidance for over 30 years! BIG love, Susan Lamb ❤

Love this so much, thank you 🫶🏼. I was thinking during this talk, how connected (for me anyway) the hermit archetype can be to the wanderer archetype; the amplifying thread being one of commitment. I have always felt these two to be at odds (in my life) but today found a missing link in this brilliant talk. The decision to commit through “wandering into” can then connect the wanderer and the hermit, amplifying the power of both. Ahhhh, I just love this!

Since January 2023 I felt a deep need to explore more of my life at 72 years of age. Where I was going I was not completely sure but I did get in my car and drove (September 18) from the west coast to the east coast of Canada. I need to find something to throw myself into completely before my end; I’m not sad or confused but do find I’m not complete…. So, my idea is to continue with my painting practice and build a tiny home and live more frugally. Being Sagittarius, I’m the wanderer and the explorer of both inner and outer worlds. Thank you. You brought clarification for me when I needed it

For all the fans out there from when Sacred Contracts was published: there is no Wanderer nor Explorer in the deck, yet the Seeker fits this video perfectly! Even light and shadow attributes. Light: thirst for wisdom and truth wherever they are / Shadow: inability to commit to a path once found. I selected this original archetype and listened to the video checking if she was referring to the Seeker energy. It's so wonderful, thank you! 💞 I guess it's clear I identify (among others) as a Seeker 😅

@maryoanna
@maryoanna 10 месяцев назад
@@anndelorge8451 yea you're right, there's nothing of the kind in the deck or in the book. I was checking if there was something similar to the gardner, the nurse, or some kind of permanent care taker (apart from the mother) in there. There's 'Keepers' of all kind in mythology that are of a different energy than the mother's. Maybe that's one to add, like the Outlaw she treated earlier this year 🤔

The aim of the wanderer is freedom (vs captivity). To be free to be guided by instincts and deeper true needs instead of commiting "forever" to external shoulds planted by layers of history of a civilization that, to be honest, doesn't really take care of its members. I think that the wanderer symbolizes an openness to the natural flow of change and transformation of life itself, especially if enriched with an inner spiritual quest to provide love, kindness and healing.

Thanks for make it so clear... I wander into countries around the world to Feel and Taste the Life, Culture as the effect of their history and demography that create the pattern of their habits, arts, dance, beliefs and also their cuisines...it is different journey than watching from RU-vid or reading books... Humanity is such a Universal Beauty on Earth.. I visit people, home, not just a place.. 🙂 I feel live is too short to see all sites of the Planet...

I am this. I seek to broaden my knowledge and experiences of this physical world and cultures and people as well as the world of ideas and philosophies. I strongly pursue self actualization and spiritual growth. Ultimately, ascension to higher reasoning, to reach the motionless center of the wheel of dharma. Every new place brings new perspectives. Before I explore a place, I learn the geography, geology, history, rise and fall of civilizations and religions. The architecture, culture, cuisine, music, art history. THEN I go and bring an historical and cultural seed of knowledge with me in order to more fully experience and understand this place in contemporary time and space. It’s a more wholistic outreach to embrace without judgment.

I'm definitely a wanderer and explorer, but my underlying goal has always been to experience something I've not yet explored. For the most part, after a certain amount of exposure to an experience, I lose interest and become bored looking for another experience. Perhaps it is the variety of 'flavors' that makes it what it is. The dark hues against the light providing both sides of a dualistic entity. That's where the fun is!!! - The treasure, for me, is the journey and the experiences that come with it. There is no end point where that needs to stop.

Good questions and points. Been judged for being an explorer all my life. So curious. It’s a calling or way of being. So much to see and do as well as people to interact with for the sake of the experience. Oh my the shadow directs drifting? Reflect and meditate on this. Like the movie chocolat, the wind changes and it’s time to move on. Nothing wrong with where I am, time to learn something different. Even as a toddler was traumatized cuz family wouldn’t let me out of my high chair. I just wanted to feel free. Need to make sure I’m not running from but running to.

A wanderer or explorer is similar to the Fool’s journey or Dorothy Gale or Gulliver or Jesus going into the desert or Buddha going into the forest. I believe when a person reaches the edges of their limitations, they arrive at some sort of cross road of their limitations. Truth is the future is unknown and venturing into the unknown often requires stepping into one’s own fear. And life is like that. We could be dead in the next moment but our mind tells us we are safe because nothing has happened in the past (based on memory). Wandering and exploring is rich because it offers an opportunity to see life realistically. That we are essentially wandering and exploring life every moment without going anywhere. That is why the fool always return in the end. And Dorothy realize this with 3 knock of her heel but it took her the journey into the unknown to uncover this truth. Ultimately it prepares us better for death because that is the pinnacle of venturing the unknown. This is the treasure or nectar you come back with… ✌️

I respectfully disagree with some of your viewpoint. It seems as if you're framing it negatively. Your opinions will fit your narrative, but there is no absolutely correct narrative. All have value, and I think it is a mistake to judge based on a limited viewpoint. There is nothing that says that maturity has to occur at a given rate or come at a certain time. Also, one can choose not to be rooted down, yet you can share those experiences with a wanderer partner. - If you know who you are and you are honest about it, there isn't a negative about it. ---- All this is based on personal experience. You can make all the correct effort, maintain the necessary focus, be committed to a path, expand your learning to become more (whatever that's supposed to mean,) and still not be able to set down satisfactory roots. There's only so much that one can control. The rest of it is quite often dependent on others and/or circumstances beyond our control. You can do all the "right" things and still not come out ahead. Plans fail, and every aspect of life is transitory, often leading to disappointment. So, there is GREAT value to allowing whatever happens to happen, surrender yourself to the things you can't possibly control, and find a way to be ok with that. In my opinion, wanderers and explorers are on the right track. To maintain the wonder of the child is something people forget how to do when they're busy adulting. The goal becomes survival based and turns into a prison. - Please understand that an opposing view is not necessarily a negative. For a lot of people, it works.
