Her song Door is for some unexplainable reason one of my favorite songs of all time. I grew up loving rock ‘n’ roll all the way from the 50s culminating in the 90s when I graduated high school. Including all of the pop, rock, hip hop, and country I’ve loved all the way through now in 2023, I feel about Caroline and Door the way I feel about Aurora and Runaway. Something special. Something timeless… Not to mention what an amazing job Caroline did with the video! How incredibly well-directed and well-produced it is, and how much it adds to the song.
When I heard her for the first time and when I was getting hooked to her and her songs I thought she couldn't be just as good singing live. I was right, she was WAY BETTER. One of the greatest voices I have ever heard in my life. I love her so much already.
I just watched part of a documentary about Jeff Buckley and they mentioned he was major influenced by Nusrat Fati Ali Khan. I then listened to this amazing singer with the obvious world music influences and wished we had a world where they could sing together.
