Cheers Joey. I will try to put out more content over the coming weeks. Got a few more things i want to review and also some rig tutorials planned so keep an eye out. Keep well mate😃👌🎣
A very well detailed review Mark. The fact that you took the time to show the central boss uses bolts instead of a wire made me order one lol - My fast and list was scrapped after the wire rusted through. Thanks again ;)
Hi Gordon. Thank you for your comment. Im glad you enjoyed my review. I think it is a very well put together brolly system and also very well made with some cool features. I'm sure you will love it. Thanks for watching 😁👍🎣
Cheers Lee. Glad you enjoyed it mate. I tried my best to give a good review as it is an excellent Brolly system. Just a shame i couldn't do it on the bank. Ive got a few more things i want to review on my channel over the next few weeks so keep an eye out for them. Be Lucky mate 😃👌🎣
Cheers mate. Yes there is plenty of room inside considering it's a brolly. Very light and easy to put up too. A real improvement to the Mk1. We are staying clear of the virus so far. Thank you for your comment. Keep safe mate 😁🎣👍
Cheers John. I highly recommend this brolly. It is very well made with alot of attention to detail. Loads of room inside it too. Good luck mate and keep well😃👌🎣
Hi Darwin. I thought the Mk1 was an excellent brolly and i too have given it a right battering since i have had it but it is still in perfect condition and will be good for a few more years yet. Thanks for watching mate. Keep well😃👌🎣
I have been using Marks old MK1 system - very impressed with it its a far cry from my Nash Oval from 20 years ago. I love the visibility of a Brolly. I have been using the Overwrap every session so far (9 nights) as where I am fishing the Mosquitoes are relentless, so I have had the door down but not zipped down (this helps repelling the mozzies as the door is wafting about and it seems to stop them coming in). The Brolly is super quick to erect and the Overwarap just takes an extra 5 mins. Unfortunately the Wire securing the ribs failed, I put this down to wear & tear - It was a very simple repair with some galvanised fence wire from the local DIY shop. The material is top quality - the underside is very similar to the old Wavelock material - I have been in some torrential rain over the last few weeks and this thing does not leak - even though i had to take the brolly apart to repair it. Its great that Wychwood have improved the way they secure the ribs to the central boss. I am seriously considering getting the MK2 not that there is anything wrong with the MK! - but I always need the wrap on with the mozzie infested water I am currently fisihng so the panel of the MK2 will really be of use to me.
@Edward Oliver just curious do you want the second skin to stop condensation? If so you will still get condensation as the second skin is in direct contact with the brolly so there is no gap between the skins.
Hi Rob. Thank you for your comment. When i referred to the MK1, i meant the MK1 MHR brolly that i have been using not the HD MHR Brolly system. Thanks for watching. Keep safe mate 😃👌🎣
I have the MK1. Really like it but this seems to have addressed some of the issues. Looks like they’ve done away with the extended skirt though which is a disappointment. I tend to use mainly as a brolly with no groundsheet and that skirt is perfect for putting your bags/kit on to keep dry whilst keeping things to a minimum. Great video by the way!!
Hi Mate. That was also one of my disappointments. I spoke to wychwood about this also and they told me that they did not put the extended skirt on the brolly system due to it having a zip in front and that it would make it difficult to put it up with the front on. The new brolly has it on though. Thanks for watching mate and stay safe.😃👌🎣
A Carpy Connection - didn’t realise system was a different design. That’s good they’ve kept the skirt on the standard MK2 brolly. With vents and multiple pegging points at the front it makes for a good brolly design. Hope rain gutter has improved as well. 👍
Thanks for a great upload well explained- too many bivvy and brolly uploads don't show how easy they are to put up or take down they just show the finished item -thanks.
Hi Mark. I have owned the super brolly and TBH mate, this is far better quality. The material is superb too. Get digging mate. A mans got to have a pond. Im tempted to get the rods out. Theres a couple of 10 pounders in there. keep well mate 😃👌🎣
@@ACarpyConnection I've always had ponds at every house and we have finally bought our own house now so I'm gunna get a nice one but not digging I'm gunna get a raised one with decking boards around it so my dogs can't jump in it lol And I know my super brolly went pink from the sun lol stay safe bud
Come across this video and glad I did.ive watch this and was inpressed by it so watched one of your other videos and thought both were very good.also like your honestly in them.👍
Thanks for the video mate much appreciated in these uncertain times👍 I’ve had 3 brolly systems over the years and to be honest the last one was the best a venture razor light b/s,but when the Nash hide xl came out I wouldn’t go back!as regarding putting them up in in a quarter of the time as any b/s,I love the brolly system but it’s a false perception regarding the time it takes to erect! All the best Danboy👊
Hi Daniel. Thanks for your comment. Your welcome mate. I will try to keep putting Carpy content out on my channel while we hunker down and try to beat this thing. I too have owned many brolly systems and you are right, There is a misconception about the speed that you can put one up. I guess with all the new features ect they put on the brollies, they get a bit more time consuming to erect, but a brollly on its own without ground sheet ect has to be the fastest option. Keep well mate😃👌🎣
A Carpy Connection thanks mate I will really appreciate you videos you put out👍And your right a brolly on there own is faster and convenient to use for day sessions they are brill, but as we’re getting older I only fish 24hrs minimum as the whole tackling up and down etc seems to take ages these days as we have so much bloody tackle to take so I won’t little more time to fish and make it my while if you no what I mean👍
Thanks Daniel. I appreciate your comments mate. I have tried to scale my gear down to the minimum but with all the camera gear i take with me, kind of defeats the object. I have now bought a power porter so doesn't seem to be so much of an issue anymore. My fishing take twice as long now too with the filming. Because i film everything on my own, takes me ages just to get the rods out. Keep well mate😃👌🎣
A Carpy Connection yes mate I find it quite a balancing act at times taking the right amount of tackle (to little or not enough) ideally I would like my own pond about about 5 acres with a lodge on each peg plus a rod set up in each swim😁oh yeah and 500 big girls swimming around!!! Now that’s my thing if my numbers come up🤣🤣🤣
Really good video, I’ve been in two minds for a while about getting this, the only thing that put me off was the weight as I currently use a tempest air. The quality is awesome thou
Cheers Nathan. Glad you enjoyed the review. It is a very well made brolly and I can see it lasting a good while. It is a bit heavier than a tempest brolly but I can deal with that. Its got some nice features and probably a bit more room than the tempest. 👍😁🎣
Very good review, looks a good brolly, but I won't be giving up on my esp hideout, hopefully we may catch some of the summer ,what with this virus about now ,cheers for the video mate
Hi Brian. Thank you for your comment mate. If the ESP hideout works for you mate then stick with it. Im sure it is an excellent brolly. Im gutted we cannot go fishing at the moment. Spring is my favourite time of the year. I dont really enjoy the summer months for carping. Thank you for watching. Keep well mate😃👌🎣
Hi mate great review its a brolly I have been looking at. I'm 6ft 4 inches and my diawa mission has seen better days with a cumbersome overwrap. Do river sessions on smaller bank spaces and wanted something more spacious due to my height . It seems one of the better options for me. I hope.
Cheers Ian. Im glad you enjoyed the review. I would imagine this brolly would be perfect for someone of your height mate. it is very tall at the front when the storm poles are pushed up fully. Plenty of room inside it too. It is also very light and packs down quite small compared to other brollies i have owned. Keep well mate and thank you for watching.😃👌🎣
Hi Mark good review fella..Very explicit..Got the 60 inch brolly myself, have just treated it to a sealer.I use the liquid, paint it on with a 4inch brush, same stuff you seal up brickwork works a treat,a couple of coats & good for another 12 months..Ok look forward to rig vlogs.. You & family stay safe/well.........LC
Hi Mate. Glad you enjoyed it. I need to treat my tempest as its a few years old now and has faded alot. I was thinking about getting the trakker stuff to do mine with. Perhaps your idea is probably as good and alot cheaper. Keep well mate😃👌🎣
Cheers Justin. Appreciate that mate. The trouble with any brolly is, when you start using ground sheets ect, they do become a bit of a faff. As a stand alone brolly through, this would be ideal for travelling light. Hope you are well. 😁🎣👍
A Carpy Connection yes mate i had the mk 1 wychwood mhr compact, great brolly but esp launched the lopro and i saw one and was sold instantly lol. I use titanium trekking pegs as theyre lighter and my lopro with pegs weigh just 3.1kg!!! Im a mobile angler on the canal and tidal river, even overnighters on canal i dont bother with groundsheet or front , i have to say though mate seriously ive never seen such an indepth thorough review, maybe the tackle companies need to take your lead. Satay safe mate wish you and your family well.
Cheers Justin. I did think about the MK1 compact when i bought my mk1 but i went for the 60" as i like a bit of room. Especially with all the camera equipment i take with me. Its nice to keep it safe and dry. I have a few more things i want to review so keep an eye out mate. Keep well mate.😃👌🎣
Cheers Darren. I highly recommend the brolly mate. Never had an issue with the MK1 which is why i bought this one. I was going to get the new Aqua pioneer and sell my Tempest, but i thought i might sawell keep my tempest for longer sessions and get this for shorter sessions. Saved myself £500. I will let you know if the tear drop vent works. Keep well mate😃👌🎣
ordered this and it came today. not had chance to set it up yet. your review was very helpful. I wondered if you knew of an overwrap that would fit this brolly?
Hi Matthew. I don't think wychwood have released a wrap for this brolly system. But I should imagine the wrap for the Mk1 system would fit as they are the same size and footprint. Be mindful there is a 60" brolly and a compact brolly which are different sizes. 😁🎣👍
Hi Jason, thanks for your comment. I to have a tempest 100 brolly. It's a bit liw for my liking. The wychwood is an all round, good system. I've used it through winter this year and it's been sound. I'm not to bothered about pack down size or weight as long as it does what I need. 🎣😁👍
Very professional review Mark as usual with you mate, noticed the price did you pay extra because the front was included with your one only when you look at them most advertising at £179? 👌👍
Hi Paul. Thank you for your comment mate. Wish i could have done it on the bank but had to make do with the back garden. This is the full system which is £249 and includes the front and storm poles. The brolly on its own is £179. 😃👌🎣
a great review, thank you. That looks like a nice system. I'm trying to get one in the states. Why can't Wychwood just say, 10 meters of head or approx 14.2 p.s.i. lol?
Hi Mark, thanks for the excellent detailed review. Been looking at this brolly for a while now, couple of questions please? can you pack away the brolly with the front in place also would you rate the ground sheet as heavy duty? thanks.
Hi John. Thanks for your message. Yes you can pack the brolly away with the front in. Although I would recommend opening the front door before you put the brolly up. This doesn't stress the ribs then when opening the brolly. Also the ground sheet I would say is heavey duty. It's very tough and quite thick. Made of rip stop material. Cheers, Mark
Hi Alan. Thanks for your comment. I don't think i have seen the Fox Ultra so i wouldn't know. Ive never been a big fan of Fox Bivvies and brollies since i owned the 1st supa brolly that came out. Keep well mate.😃👌🎣
Hi Mark I was looking at getting one of these but in the list of what comes with the brolly it does not come with the zip in front anymore I looked and you can purchase the zip in front separately however I am not sure if it’s for the mk2 as all it says is Wychwood Carp 60” MHR Brolly Front is this for the mk2 or mk1 ?
Hi Craig. Thanks for your message mate. The one I show in the video is the full system. I know they do just the brolly that does not come with the front. Here is a link to the full system www.tackleuk.co.uk/Shop/Fishing-Shelters/Wychwood-MHR-MKII-Brolly-System.htm Hope that helps mate. Merry Christmas 😁🎣👍
Hi Lewis, thanks for your comment. Yes, i had the same issue with the MK1. But i contacted wychwood and they advised me to tighten down the bell cap which i did and it stopped the leak. I did mention this in the review. Keep well mate and thanks for watching
Hi mate. Thanks for your comment. I have heard a few people have had them leak around the Bell cap but tbh mine has always been OK. Hopefully yours will be to. Wychwood customer services are pretty good so I'm sure if you have issues they will sort you out. 🎣😁👍
Hi Fella, great review.. looking into getting a new brolly system, been looking at this one and the Cyprinus K2. What would you say about the Cyprinus if you’ve had any experience with that or whether you’ve heard much?
Cheers mate. Im glad you enjoyed the review. I have never actually used a K2 brolly but i know a guy who has one and one of the internal ribs broke on it. Saying that, i have also seen a lot of good reviews on them so i cant really give an opinion. All i will say is, the Wychwood ticks every box for me and is a very well made brolly system for the money. I was going to buy the New Aqua pioneer, so glad i didn't. I saved myself over £500. Thanks for watching.😃👌🎣
Hi Neil Thanks for your comment. The reason behind the duel zips is so the front can be opened either side of the door to allow for the larger letter box opening. The velcro above the door is really wide and sticks like shit to a blanket. Time will tell though. Thanks for watching and keep well mate😃👌🎣
Hi im after a new brolly this looks really good and at a price at 250. I have a 60" aqua but old few holes and the silly twisted wire rusting... is it worth the punt alot of my fishing is rivers and couple night fishing on the bank.
Hi Leah. Thanks for your question. In my opinion it is a fantastic brolly system. Gives plenty of cover and I would say it would be ideal for rivers and canals. Quick to put up and a few nice features. I use the internal pockets alot. It is very well made too. The choice is yours at the end of the day but I would highly recommend it. 👍🎣😁
@@ACarpyConnection ill prob be doing 2 nights under it winter/summer still be good for that. A normal bivvy weighs more.. want to scale abit down on tackle i take.
Fully loaded with zip in front and ground sheet, I think it weighs around 13kg if I remember. Its super fast to put up though and the material is pretty thick so should be good for winter and summer. 🎣👍😁
Hi Tim. I have very little experience with fox bivvies. The only fox bivvies/brollies i have owned are the mk1 supa brolly and the old fox frontiera bivvy so i cant really say. Im sure it will be a good bivvy and will serve its purpose well.😃👌🎣
At the beginning it look good until you started putting the front on the idea of two zips and the storm polls at the back of the door looks a nightmare sorry not for me
Hi Dave.Thank you for your comment. I guess thats the price you pay for having a zip in front. The reason for the 2 zips is so it can be pulled down full letter box style. I think you will find most if not all brollies that have a front require 2 storm poles behind the door. They are easier to put in from inside the brolly but for filming purposes, i did it from outside. Thank you for watching though and i appreciate your comment. Be Lucky mate😃👌🎣
Hi mate. Thanks for your message. I would say it's about 4ft at the highest point when the front storm poles are at full extension. I'm 5'ft11 and I have no problems. I hope this helps. 🎣👍😁
Hi Mate. There are 2 options you can buy. The brolly on its own or the brolly system. The brolly system comes with the zip in front and storm poles. The brolly just comes with the 24" storm poles for the sides. 🎣👍😁
It can be a bit long winded putting brollies up but some are a lot easier than others. I do own a V2 Tempest and I will say hands down that it is and always will be the best shelter out there. 🎣😁👍
Hi Leah. I was still using it up until a couple of months ago. I’ve got a fast and light now simply because it’s smaller and lighter and I’m fishing a lake with very tight swims. The wychwood is still as good as new though and sat in my shed. Thanks for commenting 🎣😁👍
Hi Colin. I suppose it is in a way. With the market being saturated with new brollies and bivvies nower days, I think you will find similarities in alot of different manufacturers offerings. But having owned a supa brolly in the past, I would say this is far better quality. Thank you for commenting mate. Be Lucky 😁🎣👍
@@ACarpyConnection yeah it looks better material than fox super brolly, I had the fox camo one and it went a pinky colour from off the sun which I thought was rubbish coming from a company like fox
The material is real top quality. Very light too. The stitching is also good quality. In fact looking close at the build quality, it is very good all over. Time will tell though. Just need to use it in anger now 😂🎣😁👍
Hi Mate. Im not sure why it will not let you subscribe. I have never had issues with people not being able to subscribe before. Perhaps check your settings. You might have something checked you shouldnt have. Thank you for watching. Keep well mate😃👌🎣
Bitter twat!!! Clearly bored during these testing times so he chooses to slate peoples hard work and dedication . Good video buddy . Keep them coming. Definitely helps to get through the boredom !👍
