Usual great vid Steve, but that was sea fishing!! what an immense water, local knowledge a must I would imagine. Tell Joan she has probably started a new craze, photography from a log everyone will have one on their barrow now lol.
Another great vid. So many questions/comments to add, would look like "War and Peace" second edition! On your intro, would of loved it if you panned round, and there was Joan doing all the sound effects, Ha Ha. Man, how loud were those birds! Next stop for you, one of the Oceans?
as soon as I see the name STEVE BRIGGS I just gotta watch it, my favourite angler out there he beats good old Rex Hunt in my eyes grew up to his fishing
Hello Steve, amazing video once again, lovely to watch and learn as always, i have a unique question, why do you choose to fish so far way from the bunker (250 meters i presume) ? A strong hug from Portugal!
NIИ it’s a very shallow lake considering its size and even at 250 meters it was only just over 2 meters deep. You could catch fish closer but they tend to be smaller average weights
Thank you Steve for the feedback. It´s a huge lake no doubt about it, but very shallow too. Love your videos, learn a lot from them and i hope to see you in Portugal some day soon :-)))
Great video Steve as always! Hope to meet you at Cassien on July. PS: may you please tell us something more about the Torqeedo in a future video? It looks really cool. Tight lines!
Crowblack yes it’s a reed warbler they were singing constantly and until now I’d only heard them in Hungary but at the moment in Poland there are plenty too!! A very distinctive song!!
The best lake in Hungary, but not just in Hungary. Best lake in Europe. If you go there in April,or May you can catch so much fish and BIG Balaton fish.Come to Hungary, come to Balaton to catch the biggest fishpond have fun there.Be part of the best lake.
Just take plenty of bait and bait at around 200 yards to 300 yards and wait for the fish to come. single 24mm bottom baits worked best for me but you have to wade through the smaller fish - epic venue and amazing fishing though!!!!
Thanks for the reply Steve, how much bait would you recommend m8 I know they supply bait if I want to get it from there.the fish are pristine can’t wait to go
Nathan Corlett I got through over 100kg of boilies and pellets, you could bulk out with particles and more pellet, they are naive fish and most probably haven’t been caught before, or hardly ever, which is why they all look so good.
There is a gradual drop off in depth so you still need to get out to a reasonable depth of 2.5 or 3 meters. People do cast from the bank there but they are mainly catching very small fish. If you think that the lake is 5 miles across then 250 meters is still more or less margin fishing.
I know nothing about fishing such big venues but with such a head of fish why do you have to fish so far out? Can’t you make your baited area closer in so when conditions are awkward you can still fish it by casting?
Wazzy Wazzy it’s a fair question and one I asked myself but there are lots of anglers who fish without boats there and their average size is much smaller than those who fish up to the limit of 350 meters - of course when the other bank is six miles away that is still only like margin fishing really.
Darryl Clarkson depends how important size is. In this case I knew there would be lots of small ones but I wanted to experience Balaton and it was worth every second.
Since u do all this stuff with Steve (even though he doesn’t deserve the stuff he’s got) do stuff with Alan, Carl and Alex oil or ppl like that not this mong
