Once again a top episode Joe and Dave congratulations on your win as carp angler of the year! And the discussion about the hopeless dumping of a heavy toxic metal in nature really needs to be conducted! I'm from the Netherlands and here the discussion is really going on! But I believe that companies such as Korda , Nash etc etc should really focus much more on not dumping lead because it is completely insane that nowadays there is a focus on dumping with every bite ! And if we want our kids to be able to fish, then something really needs to be done about this!
Great interview with Dave! A superb angler, good to hear how he’s doing it right now… The point he made about picking your times really resonated. I’m retired now, used to be a Friday night angler. Picking my times to fish has produced bigger and bigger fish, definitely.

Brilliant vid mate, and Dave Levy....what an angler! Fully deserved Carp Angler of the year 2022..weldone. A very pertinent point about lead drops as this is something I have been concerned about for a few years....how much lead is on the bottom of a lot of these high pressure lakes and ponds? it has to have a detrimental effect, if not in the short term, definitely in the long term. As a possible solution, there are many sub aqua clubs in the UK, how about the fishery owners hire some divers to recover those leads ? they could resell them at a fraction of their cost and recover the cost of the divers while keeping the waters as lead free as possible and providing a service for cheaper leads in the industry...just a thought.
Guys try the Pallatrax Stonze (£1.90 each) and the Pallatrax Gripz hooks has virtually the same 'grip as a barbed hook but is barbless! I wont use anything but now!

Micro barbed hooks don't "rip out" the mouth causing scars, they don't jump or dislodge and foul hook, I have pulled a few rusty barbless hooks from fish so its jot a given they just work there way out. Either way for me day ticket waters I would have barbless rule, careless Facebook trophy hunters and less experienced angler's. Syndicates I would say most are microbarbed for a reason......I know of two fish farms that have carp lakes and both owners say micro keeps the carps mouth in better condition.....neither lake has any underwater snags in them so little danger.
