Welcome to our biggest carp fishing challenge yet, the Reservoir Diaries. Fishing a 280 acre reservoir trying to catch the big carp which live there.

We first started these diaries back in late September 2014, but it was only Spring 2015 when we finally started catching carp consistently. In this video we show all the bait, rigs, tactics and locations we fished, to catch some of the best carp we have ever caught. Hope you enjoy watching!

After having watched probably 80%+ of the carp videos on RU-vid, you have topped them all with this one, such a unique view on fishing and not to mention a unique place to be allowed to fish, tops the park lake campaign and even the secret lakes special little linear's, the wait was sure worth it, thanks for the great watch, keep it up lads!

I've been waiting for this....i'm a 42 year old Carp angler who's been fishing for Carp for 27 years, i've done and seen a lot within the sport and I own a fishery in France.....BUT, this still blew me away lads. Fishing since 11 years old and started fishing matches at 15. Consider myself a well rounded angler having had a go at most styles of fishing and always enjoyed surface fishing for carp and not taking it too seriously. I have to say I started following your channel this year having watched your deep res video and after watching this one I just can't get my head around the level you guys were at even 5 years ago! Anyway long story short I've been inspired to spend a small fortune on carp gear and I'm preparing for my first 48hr session this coming weekend, hoping to smash my pb...Keep up with the inspiration.

Finally got around to watching ... thought I'd watch five minutes and ended up having to watch it all from start to finish!!!! Epic stuff once again - great filming and great presenting and great angling -- I love the attention to detail and the numerous fill-in shots - and getting the takes and fish showing on film, that is so difficult ..... you've raised the bar yet again but inspired me to go out with the rods and the cameras ... very well done both of you :-)

As a follow up to last year’s comment, I'm 58 now and I think I've watched every Carl&Alex video I could find (including the Tutorials). I've learned so much from your videos - they've helped me become an avid carp fisherman. I also fish mainly using UK-style gear/baits/tactics/etc… Many thanks for all the helpful tips you've offered and such great entertaining carp fishing movies to watch over and over! Tha past year has been truly amazing (I even caught my first Winter carp last week👏 which was an important goal I set for myself last Autumn). Thank you again for adding so much enjoyment to my life (even though Alex is off in the woods hunting for mushrooms or stealing honey from his bees😂😂😂). +Carl and Alex Fishing I am a 12 year old fisherman I started fishing because of you and my uncle who liked fishing but infortunatly died my spellings arnt very good.please could we maby meat up at Aston park fisheries in north yorksher as I hope you can teach me a lot because my biggest fish is only about 15ib and I use a drennen method feeder and a method feeder rod that isn't as good as yours. I am hoping to start a RU-vid channal like you but I haven't got a good camera or laptop to up lode it on.

I watched this video in 2016, it was what I can only describe as perfect, the filming the music the hole shebang is just brilliant. I have been Carp fishing since the 1970's and have never watched such a well crafted video in all my times. What you boys have done here is brought experience that you would expect from men of twice your age, men who have been fishing for decades cant bring what you have done here. So back to 2019 and Im still coming back to watch this video again, was an inspiration in 2016 and is still one today. I just hope you can get round to doing this again sometime, fishing the same venue and catching more of the fish the place holds, it was back then and is now a pleasure to watch this video. I'm glad you must of sorted out the copyrights issue that you had replied to me about when these videos were temporarily removed, I have just caught the lake record and my new PB on my local reservoir last week and the first to break the 30lb mark at 34lb3oz, I skipped the 20's club and straight into the 30's as my previous was 19.8. Inspiration taken from these.

I'm 15 minutes from that reservoir, my neighbour used to manage all fishing on there until 3 years ago and the pike there are huge.Had no idea a 37lb was underneath the waters surface but you guys are awesome amazing job. I fish the Medway downstream and upstream from the res where there lurk some large double figure barbel, its always worth a look if you were ever wondering...

carp fishing is under rated here in the US. they are considered a trash fish and are routinely left on shore to die. i am one of only few who appreciate the sport of carp fishing. great movie well filmed and edited and great choice of music in the opening sequence.

Carl and Alex you need to try the Reservoir where I live only handful of people have court carp out and recently a 25.4lb came out of there after a mate of mine spent three weeks on th Bounce to catch one the reservoir is called Garnlydan reservoir it’s a 50 acre if you do your research of the place it’s a forgotten place used to be huge back in the day with match fishing and being stocked a few times but over the past 10 years clubs have forgot about it around are local area because of maintaining issues hope you guys have a look🤘🏼

All I can say is wow... I am astounded at the quality and effort put into this and all your videos. This video has right to be a full length feature on any outdoors TV channel or even Discovery... You have a life long follower and I will recommend this channel to any of my friends who fish. Subbed! One of the best carp fishing films I've seen. Kudos to you guys and your spirit of adventure. This is what makes carp fishing special. I truly believe that there are some monsters in our reservoirs that have never even seen a boilie, let alone been caught! You've captured the magic right here.
