Well folks enough of you wanted to see this happen, we have challenged Mark Pitchers to return to a river to try and catch a river carp. This time its the magical June 16th - can he succeed?
I know you guys will be bombarded with messages like this but I wanted to say everything about this series is just simply class! From Mark, Harry, the laughs, the tips to the editing! Very entertaining. Keep up the great work. #sluggy
Mark Pitchers and Ian Chilcot have definitely raised the profile of Fox and since I have been watching the challenges and DVD'S I have rediscovered the brand and now when I buy a new bit of kit I always look to see what Fox has on offer, then invariably go with the Fox option. If you have any sense at all Mr Fox International you will secure Mark and Ian and the future of the brand.
Once again, he does the job, Carp fishing and entertainment all the way. Keeps Harry giggling, great video production. Look forward to the next one....
great mark, congrat's on first river carp.loved every minute of film, had me on the edge of the sofa,my heart was pumping i can only imagine what you were like.keep up the good vid's luv em
Catching a river carp is so much more exciting. Its also much more rewarding as you get a real sense of achievement for catching one as they can be very difficult to locate, there aren't that many of them (in my river anyway), and then you've got to catch one! Wild carp go mental too. The last two I've had have jumped clean out the water!
That was awesome! Seeing you get that first fish off the top had my heart in my throat! Well done guys great job! Congrats on the capture and getting your first river carp!
once again mark pulls out another cracking video he is by far the most entertaining on youtube for fishing, just one little thing i could pick at but this is just my own niggle, maybe a little more in depth detail maybe show setting up the rigs like the knots and parts he uses for the beginners like me that dont really know alot of the settups/rigs and knots etc. But 10/10 video once again :)
I'm revisiting this carp challenge series 3 years later and it's still brilliant to watch. You guys did a great job with the relaxed and entertaining presentation style, pro camera work, original music selection and skillful editing - the angling isn't too shabby either! I particularly enjoyed the river episodes and I also really liked the 'Marks Musings' interludes and shots of other wildlife. Contemplating what is and what isn't 'carpy', brewing slug tea, making teabag pyramids, (not) drinking de-icer, earthworm liberation etc etc, so many laughs. The all important confidence aspect to fishing shows through and you really captured the highs and lows we experience as anglers.
Loved the rig, line tied to a hook!!! superb camera work and production, have you thought about mono ing the audio at some points (the audio from the camera, not the music), all the levels are pretty good dude!!! think its getting too easy tho, too many passes now, my challenge is 3 thirty's from 3 county's in 3 days. (although if you want to make it a bit easier 2x25 and 1x30)
mark mark you said you felt uncomfortable on the river you looked like an ambassador for gay pride at a B.N.P march only jesting well done not easy the old river Carp but you gave that back channel a good old frashing .ha ha .harry must of planned it watch that one surprised he didn't bring the Vaseline for the extra line flotation of course.seriously your atop guy and a Jedi carp hunter RESPECT
its in a place called surrey just outside London ant there not parrots there parquets that escaped from sheperton studios whilst making a movie in the 60s there all over south London and surrey
It’s actually done 3 different 40s since 2013. Many 30s. Lovely place. That while stretch of river is banging. Mark was actually on private land. As it used to be a fishery but got sold of and built a mansion on it. There is also a lake just behind mark. As part of the old fishery too.
well done, I'm so envious that you was able to stalk them. Should of tried to rake the swim out for bottom fishing, you'd be surprised how quick they return.
wow that carp is beutifull the ""challenge complete carp"" i didnt know mark but imdidnt like him now i think i like him id love to work on your fisheries mark
This was my favourite episode, maybe because its a local spot. Mark looked made up with that first fish, congrats. The parrot was a Rose Necked Parakeet, they are common around here.
so your a failure and had to do the thames my god my daughter caught one from there you bottled it on oundle ffs mark n fox should be called piss easy camping i mean carping
how about a real river challenge where he has to catch other species before he can catch a carp so he has to catch a specimen grayling then a carp then he has to catch a specimen chub then a carp then he has to catch a specimen barbel then a carp. he can't use carp tactics for any of the non-carp species so no bite alarms and rod pods for the barbel and at least one of the carp has to be a 20 and for bonus points he can catch a specimen Eel
Wessel De Lange Hi There, Mark used the Horizon X 2.25TC rod, which is perfect for stalking and floater fishing like Mark was doing. The soft action allows you to get away with fishing lighter hooklengths and flicking out freelined baits, with still enough power to pull the fish away from snags etc.
i love the fox media stuff its great!!! but why does the commentary audio on most the fox media films only come out of the left or right speaker not both? 1:11 for a prime example, i only had my left hand speaker on, couldn't even hear mark until i turned the right speaker on? i could only hear the background music? happens all over the edges dvds... you are not the only guilty parties but surely someone as big as fox could sort this minor audio problem i could fix now at home with basic software??? anyways like i said love the guys work both sides of the camera, keep it up!!!!
i am fishing all the time on a river. we can make a challange here. 30 carp in 48 hours? we have river , canal and pond. best carp fishing ever here in ontario!!!
all rather bitchy, some of these comments, seems it's a bit of ,the have's and have not's don't even carp fish, but thought,it was well done, enjoyed it. Best regards Allan.
