I am a huge music lover and I have heard in my lifetime all of the greatest singers, Streisand, Olivia Newton John, to name a few and don't get me wrong I love them and their singing, but NOBODY and I mean NOBODY touches my heart so deeply as Karen Did with every song she sang. Like her brother, Karen was a genius in knowing the perfect way to sing every song she sang. Her voice is jaw-dropping with every song she sang. I think just about everyone would agree that Karen almost always moves you to tears when you hear "That voice". I always Loved her so much all my life and the world lost so much when we lost the Brilliant Karen Carpenter. She will always stand alone at the #1 position.

Karen’s voice was simply magical and her loss to the world was and is immeasurably tragic. I loved her, along with the world, and I’m routinely moved to tears by the Carpenters music and by the realization of Karen’s tragically shortened life.

Stop it, you took every word, every word out of my mouth, God bless you! Brilliant insight, those other singers blow me away, but Karen's voice touches my soul, heart and spirit, it envelops me and gives me peace. That no other singer can do, not even close!!!!!

THEE most pure, rich, intimate, warm, moving, beautiful voice ever! the ultimate vocalist who sang TO YOU NOT AT YOU....as her brother stated "her voice a PHONO-Genic" and herb albert who signed the carpenters to his label A & M " she sounds like she is sitting in your lap and singing only to you!"....she also had the most perfect diction and enunciation i have ever heard from any vocalist or singer male or female..

Having been a fan of Karen’s voice since her start, I can probably come close to explaining what her specific gift is. Re listen to the WORDS as she sings, each word is a song in itself that evokes an emotion…you feel it in your soul. Never heard any other singer that has that specific gift. ✌️🕊🎼

Yes! Her voice always touches my soul. You'll love this. John Bettas, who wrote 6 of their megahits, was asked in an interview not too long ago, "What did Karen sound like when you first heard her?" His answer wow-ed me. He said, "I first heard Karen sing when I met Richard in college. Karen was 16 years old at the time, and she sounded like she did when she was in her 20's. She had that voice already, given to her by God."

her voice was purity and richness and warmth and intimacy personified! Add in her perfect pitch and tone and incredible enunciation and diction and well there you have it.... As many over the years have said she sang to the listener NOT at them, she felt like she was singing only for you, it felt like she was sitting in your lap singing to you and that she knew EVERYTHING that a human (i.e. the listener) was going thru.. She was and always will be the master storyteller who knew the song was NOT about her but for the listener. One of if not THEE greatest vocalist (not just a great singer) of love and romance songs ever, male or female...

She is one of the iconic singers of the twentieth century.Karin is right there with the likes of Sinatra, Holiday, Fitzgerald, Streisand, Bennett, Washington and a few others. Thanks for the awesome reaction! One of my favorite Carpenters songs. There was a TV movie about her in the 80's. And they played this song at the very end of the movie when you know she was going to die. And hearing her sing, "and when my life is over" - ugh, it was heart wrenching!

Leon Russel's timeless classic. Karen's voice and Leon Russel's song is like a perfect marriage. If I'm not mistaken Richard Carpenter did the arrangement of this version. It's on an out of this world level and it still stands today as a Carpenters fan favorite like me. It feels like a farewell song to her fans on a personal level. Love "For All We Know" as well. Two of my favorite Carpenters song.

I was 4 years old when The Carpenters came onto the music scene. Music was my refuge from the loss of my Dad dying. I always sang to the radio. Always. My aunt said I sang lyrics before I could speak completely... Hearing Karen Carpenter was inspiring. She taught me to sing from my soul. I emulated her. For many years she helped me through the darkness of grief. I wish I could have thanked her. To this day I get goosebumps and cry because of the pure beauty of her voice. The unbelievable magic of Richard's arrangements. Thank you so much for appreciating her. I love when young people look back and listen to music that I grew up with and can feel it and really appreciate it. Bless you dear.

Her voice is so good that its almost un-describable...there's not enough adjectives in the English language to describe her singing voice...it just soars at times...she can easily put billions of goosebumps on my arms with that voice that just soars...its such a tragic thing that she died at the age of 33

I love that Karen brings you to tears. I feel blessed to have lived in a time where her music was fresh and new. She brings me back to a nice childhood when the world was a much safer place although we only knew it as the world we lived in. Those 70s singers were so talented. Not to take anything away from today's artists, but they don't have the depth, the vocal range or even the RAW talent to hold a candle to those who came before them.

Angela. Take the time to read up on The Carpenters. They were loved by so many, including the 13 year old me, when they were new on the FM radio dial. It is tragic what happened to Karen. I named my only daughter, "Melody" because of this song. The Carpenters were an inspiration to many musicians. I see you FEEL the emotions she touches your soul with. That is why you have reviewed so many of her songs. You even mention "the harmony." In the same sentence. My daughter named her first daughter, "Harmony", once again in reference to this song. My daughter just turned 28, and loves music, almost as much as I do. Keep posting your great reaction videos. You do great! I almost never do this, but, I subbed your channel.

What a gift the Almighty gave to humanity. So blessed to have this talent recorded for future generations to hear and enjoy. Gone too soon. There goes another tear. 😪 God I miss her.

I grew up listening to the Carpenters and i still consider Karen to be the greatest female vocalist, so to see a new generation discover them afresh makes me so happy.
