What a ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGLY and DYNAMIC voice Karen had. Sweeter than honey,richer than gold and as refreshing as a Summer Breeze. A very beautiful and immensely talented lady who was here for a far too shorter time. We can only imagine what superlatives in music we have missed and what could have been. We of course are extremely thankful for the music Karen did leave us with. We miss her GREATLY. One of THE VERY,VERY,VERY BEST female artists of all time. Thank you Karen.

Karen was just so beautiful. And she just looks fantastic on TV. The camera loves her. Karen is actually the only singer that can bring a tear to my eye. I don’t know, just wish something had changed in her life, that she would still be with us today I can only imagine how much more she would have given us. Every time she performed, she gave it her all. Thanks Karen for what we do have. You are very much loved and missed!! 💜💜

Sheena C, I agree. No one -- not even those supermodels and movie stars -- attracts me as intensely as Karen, not only in voice but in looks as well. I don't know why. Maybe through her singing she captivates me so hard that I automatically begin to feel that no one is as ravishing as she is. I feel her intense, profound soul. Through her song delivery I feel the deepest recesses of whatever she must have felt throughout her life. In fact I believe she was the most gorgeous woman in the whole world, ever.

Because her beautiful voice haunts our living souls to lose her so long ago was and still is very sad indeed....as we all grow older now we miss her even more...the emptiness is not fulfillable...an angel left us here with only the echoing sounds of yesteryear. What we lost so long ago...heaven is now enjoying in sweet abundance!!!

KC will always be my No. 1 singer/artist/vocalist of all time. Her voice is so magical, golden, crystal clear like no other. Everytime she sings, i feel like i'm in a fairy-tale land.

Karen's singing evokes feelings of a begone era tht seems simpler yet nicer & less cynical. An era where people work hard not because they wanted to live in the biggest house in town but because they wanted their kids to be provided the best they can

She’s just got to be the most perfect performer ever. Of course her voice is perfect but her presentation and overall performance is also perfect. Just want to add one more thing. None of what you are seeing and hearing would be here if not for the genius and tireless work of Richard Carpenter. Richard does not get enough credit. Who didn't have a crush on Karen Carpenter in the early 70s? I was in junior high with a huge crush. Her voice sounds better today than it did back then, because through the decades it surpassed all other voices.
The more I listen to Karen, the more I want to listen to Karen!! The only thing better than Karen Carpenter is more and louder, acapella Karen Carpenter!!!!!!!!!!!!! The thing is I do not want to listen to anybody else.
Perhaps the greatest expression of Karen’s extraordinary voice - unshowy, velvet-smooth but ineffably sorrowful - was on Hurting Each Other. She fills the ostensibly upbeat opening lines with sadness, the drop in temperature at the end of the chorus - as she slowly sings “without ever knowing why” - is authentically shiver-inducing.

I love all of these comments here! I agree! Karen had the most clear and beautiful voice ever! She was one of my biggest singing inspirations. This song was one that I would hear on the radio while I was sleeping / dreaming. I only remembered some of the chorus for years! This was of course back in late 70's or early 1980's.. I would mow the lawn, and sing the chorus.. Could not find the tune anywhere for a long time. then one day, found the vinyl album, and played it until it wore out!! Now, I have a digital copy.. I love all of their tunes.... I can listen to Karen all day! any time. I wish that she were still alive! She lived a few houses away from my Mother when they were young, before fame. Oregon Ave, East Haven, CT She will always live on in her music! Never stop playing her music! That angelic voice will live on forever!
These scenes of eternally adorable, sublime Karen with her nymph-like sensual yet totally innocent appearance and voice make me cry every time I see them.
When Karen passed away many years ago we lost not only a big talent in the singing world but s special human who's heart was too good for this crazy evil world...still saddens me deeply of her lost before she had the chance to grow old with family and loved ones...an empty void without her presence 😭 We all miss her still😭
I feel personally bad because I didn't appreciate her back then in the 70s when I was busy burning out brain cells listening to Aerosmith and Black Sabbath etc....what fools we were then...I'm sure if we could we would do it a little bit different Again 😉. At least I should hope so!🤗
Yes...you are all correct. What a voice! Many of you already might know this but that lush beautiful sound of their background vocals was Karen....over and over again. Listen to their Chritmas Portrait album. THE BEST rendition EVER of Have yourself a merry little Christmas ....is Karen's. I cry every time i hear it. God truly blessed mankind qirh hwr voice.

Richard Wharton I just started high school and I listen to them! It’s such a shame that a lot of people don’t know them, and if they do, they don’t listen to them.
