how about "bless the beasts and the children", "for all we know", "all of my life" (karen only 19 at the time!), the original recording of "someday", (again karen only 19 at the time of this recording!), her last song ever recorded "Now", their last big hit "touch me when we're dancing"....
Karen and her moving magical voice...Thank you for having existed and created such beautiful pieces of music. There was lack of love in her life but I hope she knew that a lot of people all around the world loved her. Rest easy Angel.
I love The Carpenters…Karen’s voice just brings you in and they’re both musical geniuses. Karen’s voice just soothes us and sometimes makes Me cry. Thank you for this great reaction and I totally agree about their soothing sound. I love playing them and it relaxes me too. 🎶🎤🎵♥️🎶🎤🎵♥️
They were very unique being siblings. Richard’s arrangements were as brilliant as Karen’s incredible voice. He always knew to make sure her vocals were the most important instrument on the record. It is incredible to think she really only wanted to be a drummer and started to sing.almost as an afterthought. Ever since I first heard the angelic voice on the radio as a kid in the 70’s I knew even then it was magical and unsurpassed.
You are a beutiful man. Thank you for appreciating how special Karen was. I grew up with the Carpenters on the radio and have all their album realeses. I also have their 45s (those of us that grew up in the 60s and 70s remember). A part of me still longs for Karen and Rochard to 😢still be creating their magical music There is an artist named Tori Holub. She's incarnate of Karen's beautiful voice.
You mean Richard, not John.... Only Karen and Richard did all of the background vocals dubbing their voice together, the group behind them only sang in live concerts as background vocals, but not on the records....
What to say when you said it all, so right, so exact, so true! We knew you meant Richard! You were caught up in the excitement, the ahhhh, the joy! Right there with ya!💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗❣❣❣❣💃💃💃😎😎😘
gives me an extra shot of happiness simply for seeing and knowing it is your first time to hearing this song, but seeing you being blessed again by such wonderful duo as the Carpenters who i grew up with which makes me more mature in age 🤣, but we are in the same boat no matter where you are in life or who you are, i cant imagine anyone not liking this dynamic duo! I believe For All We Know and Only Yesterday are my favorites, but few are not great. Desperado is also great by them. It doesnt seem that long ago, that any time you turned on the radio (before there werent that many stations, and before you could make a play list) that you would hear the Carpenters. Rainy Days and Mondays was the first song i recall hearing by them on the radio when i was about 12. I cant say i recall hearing a first song by anyone else. Yes it was a tragic day when she died, but i agree too much stress is put on how she died instead of just enjoying the legacy. Two Sides is a wonderful song as well.
Oy! You are forgiven, yes it’s Richard. I slid through the history I don’t think I saw Rainy Days and Mondays, and, Goodbye To Love. More get the Kleenex ready songs but hey, that’s what we love and need. It’s 40 years this month. Thanks to reactors like you I’m back. It’s been a long time since I did a Carpenters marathon but I’m back. ❤ I’ve been surfing Carpenters and enjoying the hell out of, especially, the youngsters discovering Karen’s voice. Then, usually on Rainy Days when the camera pulls back they all freeze the video and say … she’s doing WHAT?! On the official video, not a live show. Good stuff!
@@kathypellette2509it’s been an interesting year. I discovered this young talented lady, last October. Goosebumps and thrills ever since. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lzGAhBT-zTg.htmlsi=h6h4ZN8Jjs44a6G7
Saw the Carpenters sing in 1972 .Karen blew me away singing and drumming on a level that Phil Collins ,and Levon Helm are on .To see Karen sing and drum at the same time -on youtube watch her cover of the Beatles Help,Dancing in the Streets and Karen Carpenter kick ass drummer .Karen's very best songs ? The Burt Bachrach Medley (Australia 1972 in black and white ),Solitaire ,and Trying to get the Feeling Again (recorded in 1975,lost ,found by Richard and released in 1994-11 yrs after Karen died )
Hey Pat, I really get your love for KC's voice. She had the most beautiful voice - ever. You asked for recommendations of her other songs. Here are a few outstanding choices that you may not have heard: Solitaire, This Masquerade, A Place To Hideaway, and I Can Dream Cant I, that shows she can hold long notes with her perfect pitch, making this one of her most beautiful songs from the Big Band era. These songs are not among her highest Billboard listings, but I believe you will love these gems.
Thanks Patrick, for a great reaction video by The Carpenters. For me is Karen the greatest female singer of all time, her voice is magical and crystal clear. Suggestion another amazing song "The Carpenters - Don´t Cry For Me Argentina" (cover version).
Hi dear Pat! I am quite pleased and impressed with your work and selection of great performers and performances here. You have exceptional taste in music, as do I, being a professional singer since I was 13. Karen, Barbra, the Beatles, the Moody’s, Aretha, Carole, John Denver, Ella, Nat, Johnny Mathis, have all influenced me to be the amazing singer I am. As for Karen, I miss her to this day. Her legacy IS in her music, and will live on into countless millenniums.💙 That said, dear Patrick, I would love for you to look at her last song she recorded in the Studio, “Now”, and also at the project where Richard was invited by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to re-record their songs with the orchestra, and then add Karen’s perfect vocals. So the perfect voice meets the perfect orchestra. Richard being a major control freak, re-wrote the instruments for the songs, and changed many parts. He was asked to Conduct, Produce, Arrange, and is a sweaty mess in the clip “Superstar”. However his vision is spot on, and it is perfection personified. So check out “Superstar” as well. And her “Merry Christmas, Darling” is just so touching for the holiday. She is so beautiful in the video. Okay my friend. Happy to see you back again! I have missed you.🥰 Stay well, stay safe! God’s blessings to you always! Love and Kisses, Frankie 🥰✌🏼🙏☺️☕️☺️😘💋🤗💕❤️⭐️❤️🥰💙
Loved Carpenter music. My other favorites are Close to You, Yesterday Obce More and We've Only Just Begun. I've read other comments about the lipsyncing. So what, most every song was lipsynced by singers back then. Karen had a beautiful calming voice and pure talent. There are very few drummers who can play the drums and sing at the same time. The only other singer/drummers I know of are Phil Collins and Don Henley.. It was a sad time for all of us who loved her music when we learned Karen passed away. A beautiful voice that was silenced way too soon. RIHP Karen Carpenter, you are still loved by many.
Produced by Phil Ramone in 1979. Karen was backed by Billy Joel's band. The final Carpenters single was indirectly from Karen's solo album, though it was a slightly altered version off the 1989 Lovelines album...If I Had You.
