Beautiful voice she sadly passed away at I believe 32 from anorexia Nervosa, I wish she knew she was perfect 💕🙏

Karen was one of a kind. There will never be another like her. She had such a pure calming voice. And she was a terrific drummer. That was her passion even more than singing. Sadly we lost her so young. Thankfully we have her legacy left in her music. The Carpenters had so many great songs such as "We've Only Just Begun", "Rainy Days & Mondays", "(They Long To Be) Close To You", "For All We Know", "Goodbye To Love", "Top Of The World", "Sing", "Yesterday Once More", "I Won't Last A Day Without You", "Please Mr. Postman", "Only Yesterday", "There's A Kind Of Hush (All Over the World)", "I Need To Be In Love" & so many more.

Karen was the real deal. Beside the pop music dimension, her and her brother were virtuoso musicians, Karen drummer/percussionist and her brother an extraordinary keyboardist.
@ericanderson8886
One of Karens great ones. Her voice is timeless. Yes Delany and Bonnie had the original, co written by Leon Russell, but the Carpenters definitely had the huge hit with it.
@cliffordlowerre1381
Often sad when she sings, but always a big smile on her face when playing the drums which she was very good at. Seems like everyone uses the same three letter word when hearing Karens voice. WOW! Especially when hearing it for the first time. Richard and Karen were both very talented. They and their band mates blessed us with some wonderful and timeless music. Hope you do more! Thank you for the nice reaction.

Thank you for your wonderful reaction video. Dominica hit the meaning of the song perfectly!!! It's about a girl who idolizes a rock star on the radio, a Superstar. She goes on to meet him at a concert and then 'she' falls in love with him. Karen Carpenter was an amazing vocalist ... and a drummer. Although she and her brother performed some 'cover' songs, Richard wrote some very good songs, too.

I'm a little surprised you've never heard of the Carpenters. They were a global success in the 70s. So many hits and fans around the world even still today.
@willarth9186
Karen was incredible and for 40 years I thought I'd never hear that pure voice again but then I heard Tori Holub on RU-vid singing The Carpenters' hit Merry Christmas, Darling and you would swear that Karen has been reincarnated as a blonde!!!

My favorite female singer ever! She just had this ability to make you feel so many emotions. So talented and her brother, Richard, too.
@christopherhuot2826
TOMMY BOY "I can stand it if you can", whatever. At the end they're both sobbing 😭 PRICELESS!!!
@liftme225
This woman can bring tears listening to her. Karen also was a GREAT drummer.
@kevinpolito1529
If you were driving home and arrived just when a Carpenters song came on the radio, you would sit in your car until the song finished. Then sigh, then climb out of the car.
@BillO964
Karen had the best voice of her era. Period.
@jazzmaan707
The thing about Karen, is that she made you feel the lyrics that she was singing, and she could touch your soul with her voice. She is considered the best female singer, by many, and that's from the last 40 years, when she left us, at age 32.
@KajunMoo70
Actually, the song is about a groupie that had a one night stand with the guitarist she had a crush on. He told her things knowing he was never going to see her again but she believed the sweet nothings that he said.
@pamelastevens7877
perfect pitch with a 3 octave contralto. Best voice of her time
@DaveK0526
That lyric-"loneliness is such a sad affair"..always brings a catch to my throat
@xejanfan
An absolutely ICONIC voice, such a loss at such a young age.
@26shedan
her voice is effortless. I have never heard another voice like hers where she just opens her mouth and notes fall out. Beautiful.
@robertkennedy1776
The most perfect voice ever recorded
