May 15, 2007, Carpentersville, Illinois -- Village of Carpentersville election winners Paul Humpher, Judy Sigwalt, and Keith Heinz are all sworn in to office. All three candidates ran on a political platform largely centered on anti-illegal immigration, including fining businesses found to rent to or hire undocumented residents, and to eliminate all non-English language materials and services from the Village.
Attendees of the Village of Carpentersville board meeting speak out on the proposed ordinance by Trustees Paul Humpher and Judy Sigwalt to remove all non-English language materials for residents, and require all business by the village to be conducted in English, including correspondence between staff and residents.
