Empty House with a fair amount of pet urine and soil. This home was up for sale and just needed to be thoroughly cleaned to make it presentable for the sale. Vacuumed, treated for urine, treated for soil and oily feet using an enzyme based pre-spray with citrus built in. mechanical agitation with the CRB, rinsing and extracting using an acidic neutralizing agent to help drop the PH back down.

That’s impressive well done. The problem that remains, in more serious cases, is urine right down into the pad and subfloor soaked into the plywood. That will create lingering Odours beyond the carpet itself. In that case the pad would have to be pulled out remove replaced and the plywood, possibly treated and sealed with a primer sealer prevent offgassing of odours. Yup you guessed it. I’m in the restoration industry.

What about thoroughly soaking the floor in a hydrogen peroxide and ammonia solution? It breaks down urine and evaporates without mildewing

@@skillybiskuit12 Sure you could do that but I would advise to always complete the process with a non-permeable primer sealer.

@skillybiskuit12 doesn't work. My cat used an area behind the couch and I tried everything like that. In the end I ripped up the entire floor and there was urine down to the stone underneath.

@@HoweyJR_ Obviously because it's nasty AF to have pet urine stains in the padding probably down to the concrete with that mess. It probably still smells regardless of how well this guy cleaned it. The majority of those stains are coming back for sure.

We bought a house where the seller “cleaned” the carpet but we knew they had a dog we saw peed on the carpet. We decided to replace all the carpet because it’s gross and glad we did because the pad was disgusting. The carpet guys who were replacing it said there’s no getting that stuff out with a carpet cleaner. So yes, the carpet may look OK on the surface but the pad underneath can not be thoroughly cleaned.

If it's in the pad, yes, but if it's in the carpet, only it is possible to get it out. They install carpet. Not clean it. Of course, they'll say that. Chemistry has come a long way, but I fully agree. If it's past the carpet. The pad and sub-floor may need to be dealt with as well. This one needed to be replaced for sure, but when you're selling. There is no added value in putting new carpet in a home for the sale. At least not in our area based on real-estate agents. We always suggest replacement first when we see carpets like this. It's a clean, for sale kind of situation. It absolutely needed replacement, but it doesn't make sense for the seller to do so because there is no added value to the sale of the home.

Ppl commenting abt removing the carpet, need to learn to read. The owners of the house want it cleaned enough to sell. The cleaner suggested to replace the carpet. But owners are not willing to make that cost. Owners just want it clean enough. If the owners inform the new buyers, they can possible replace it

I’m just in disbelief that they walked barefoot on that carpet and got into bed! I’m not the tidiest person by any means but I do hoover often as we’ve a dog. (I’m not too keen on dog hair in my sheets). Our current house in the States had lime green with yellow speckles, shag carpet from the original build in 1976! It was something to behold. We pulled it out and someone paid us for it, even though we offered it for free. They wanted it in their basement. We were absolutely gobsmacked. But they loved it and we were pleased for them.

I love that you do two passes, and you also actually wait until the stain is lifted to move on to the next section. a lot of carpet cleaning companies just do one pass, or they clean each section equally, even though some stains need a little more elbow grease !! very satisfying and I like your explanations. Rinse agent is definitely important. Bringing the final pH down will prevent people (maybe babies or kids) from getting rashes if they’re ever crawling around on the floor. Final pH of about 6.2-3 is perfect.

Super satisfying to watch! Seems like the culture now is to tear up and replace carpet by default. This keeps some material out of a landfill and gives the next resident peace of mind that the carpet is nice and clean. I’m not in your area, but this video gave me a ton of info on what to look for next time I’m hiring this kind of service.

Yes, but ideally its best that the carpet has pre-spray in it while running a brush machine on it. You may not really notice it, but a CRB on dry carpet may wear the carpet fibers out faster.

With the products we use. Yes. There is a slight fresh scent, but it dissipates. As long as there are no other odor sources in the house. You can apply topical deodorizer to give the house a fresh smell.

I’m very interested in why you chose certain chemicals over others. I don’t clean carpets for a living but I use my Bissell extractor quite a bit to remove stains and soils from upholstery and carpet. Is there a publication somewhere that I can refer to on how to chose the appropriate chemicals? Thanks for the great videos!

It depends upon the situation. If the carpet is just soiled. You use an alkaline prespray and then rinse with an alkaline neutralizing rinse. Most soils in the United States are acidic, so alkaline is what helps suspend them.

If the stain is alkaline based, such as dried urine. You'll use an acid to help break it down, and then I'll use an acidic neutralizing rinse afterward. Another thing I'll evaluate is if the urine contamination out ways the soil load, I'll rinse with the acid. If the soil outweighs the urine or is only soiled and no real stains. I'll rinse it out with the alkaline neutralizer. Hopes this helps.

Hello there Mr. Carpet Cleaner man . My name is Peter, and I'm a Vacuum tech. The people that Own the store where I work used to also clean carpets. I would very much recomend you to use a more Heavy Duty Vacuum Such as one of the Riccar Tandem Air Models ( R30D or R40P ), or a Kirby. Shark Vacuums are just surface cleaners, therefore you're not cleaning deep down and getting all the deep down dirt under the carpet pad. Plus the also tear the carpet fibers apart to beat the brand. Riccar & Kirby are the only vacuums that truly clean deep down .

This vacuum doesn't have a brush roll and I've never had any issues with them causing problems. I understand what you're saying. I've used a Kirby before. They work but are way too heavy. If you didn't see. We utilize a counter Rotating Brush, which is approved to clean carpets with which is what brings the deep soil up more. We also utilize machines with 600+ CFM and between 13.5-20 inches of lift. I've contemplated some other vacuum options. It's just not in the budget to test others out when they're all $500+ each for those. Thank you for commenting and for the suggestions.

@@blackdiamondcleaningservices the Riccar R40P is heavy also. More budget friendly heavy duty vacuums I recommend are the Riccar Spirit, or Cleanmax Pro Series

Not trying to sound like an ass honestly. But if you left those lines in my carpet id never hire you again. People are visually amazed by the lines but its not the natural look of the carpet and it hides the remaining stains. In fact on the darker parts of the lines you left you can still very much see the stains. It takes more than 1 pass to get stains out of a carpet im very sure after you left and it don't dried and the amazing lines were gone that rug still looked horrendous

Thank you for the intro information. My cousin is a carpet and cleaning pro in Michigan. I usually ask him for help regarding stains, odors, etc. I’ve only ever seen the incredible results when he has rescued my floor surfaces, back in the days of having to live in rentals, etc. Truly amazing. Now I’m learning more so I’m able to assess services in my area. 😊

I can agree, but when you're selling the house, it's an even bigger waste to put in a new carpet, knowing the buyer is going to do that. It won't bring you any additional value to the home sale, unfortunately. A lot of times, the seller will put a credit in the sale for some items that need to be fixed.

Yes I agree, much of what I do in my cleaning is watching other companies use products and their methods. I love unchained it is the best for pet urine. CRB is a great tool. Don’t forget to pre vacuum first though.

Great video! How were you able to mix the enzyme prespray with peroxide (pure o2)?

I always mix it before my machine has been on to long. That way, my water isn't too hot because of the o2 causing potential problems. Pure o2 and enzymes (most) shouldn't be mixed over, I believe 110 degrees. That way, you're not worrying about killing the enzymes and, of course, the o2 potentially exploding on in your sprayer of choice.

Unchained is a molecule modifier which breaks the urine molecules so any urine Unchained touches removes the urine. Now the padding is a different story water claws work a bit but I don’t like them so once in the padding it’s there for good unfortunately.

thats awesome deep cleaning and i was going to say if you upgrade your shark vertex to the new shark strados because it has new features like new powerfins hair pro technology and odor neutralizer and you can get the new shark hydrovac with it and a bissell proheat 2X revolution hydrosteam pet so if you go to any place that your truck mount is not good enough to reach like apartment homes and the bissell revolution hydrosteam and shark hydrovac for the hard floors and area rugs will help even with your truck mount can use with the rinse function so what do you think about that

We don't really have huge apartment complexes here. The ones we do have our machines are actually strong enough to run 300ft-400ft of vacuum hose and still clean affectively. I'll have to look that vacuum up. Thank you for sharing.

Satisfying would be taking that carpet out and replacing it with tile or hardwood. The top is somewhat clean. But underneath is nasty that will come out slowly to the top. Carpet is nasty. In my opinion.

You can clean that 20 times and it's still gonna be smelly. The urine soaks into the padding underneath. Best bet is to rip it out and get new carpet- AFTER you kick tenant and pets out.

Our nephew own a pretty big carpet cleaning business. He has been pretty honest regarding the fact that cleaning the carpet is only the top surface. Everything under will re surface later. It is impossible to completely remove pet urine. I have an elderly dog who has accidents. I will be replacing carpet with vynl wood planks.

Only so much you can do on carpet like that. Its unfortunate their furniture choice, looks like it almost peirced the carpet in spots and it looks like the yellow spot is where the dog laid. Must have had metal furniture or something. Edge of that carpet looks rough. Interesting clean . looked like they treated that house not so well

Can you use the unchained by itself to remove urine smell? or should you use that booster with it as well? I have a spot where the dog keeps using the bathroom on our carpet for some reason and I'm trying to get the smell outta the carpet.

My opinion is just get small area rugs because rugs are absolutely disgusting.

Just wondering why you don't linger longer on the dirtier spots with the scrubber machine? I would think that area would need more scrubbing. I also think the higher the quality of the carpet the better it cleans. I watched one of your videos here you cleaned an apartment carpet where the tack strip at the door failed and that did not do as well as this carpet. Just observation.

That's due to worn traffic patterns. It's obviously torn, and the carpet is frayed. It'll appear darker in the walked areas due to that. I pulled this from Google for reference of "worn carpet." Why does my carpet look worn? It is the breaking down of the carpet fiber, carpet backing, or carpet pad on a microscopic level. Carpet wear typically happens when there is an increased combination of foot traffic and soil deposits. Carpet wear is visible in several forms such as matted carpet and/or dingy or discolored carpeting in specific areas.Oct 29, 2015

So you spray the carpets first with unchained, then the other 2 products.

Yes, that's correct. Gives the unchained dwell time before adding the others. Unchained is a ph of 6, and the other prespray I used is 12.5. I want to make sure the unchained does its job before altering the ph level.

When it comes to pet mess, I'd just pull the carpet up, but the video is enjoyable to watch nonetheless. I wonder if you could get soda stains out of a carpet, coca-cola and Irn-bru (sunset yellow, or E110) Got a good carpet in a bedroom that if I could get those stains out of would be worth keeping, but what I've tried hasn't worked.

Would you, (referencing everyone) take a shower and just pour soap over your body without scrubbing anything? No. Why? Because it's not going to get you clean. The dirt that is still on you, is going to smell great! Cleaning a carpet and not use a CRB to work the cleaner deep into the carpet stains, is not going to get the best possible result. My husband and I detail cars and clean the occasional household carpet or upholstery, we drill brush our chemical into the carpet after spraying, it works into the fibers, and we get the best results. We wouldn't think of not drill brushing, that takes away from the overall result for us. Just my thoughts.
