Carpuride NEW *** W903 Pro *** Apple CarPlay FM Bluetooth Head Unit - Unbox and BMW Full Install 

Hey Marilyn ;) thanks for giving us your feedback on the Carpuride's W903 , yes that's definitely one of the issues with the cheaper brands they don't have a good cooling system. You got to remember these head units only go though the satellite navigations from the phones ... all run from the phone and that's what gets warm ...not the actual unit the actual head unit just is a display it really doesn't have any full processing of the maps just mirrors that from the iPhone or the android device., These are nice units they work really well and I in Australia have experience 43°C temperature hot days last summer.. and the Carpuride's don't flinch or glitch at all they're really high-quality componentry thanks so much have an awesome day cheers Andrew

Hey Logan great to meet you in awesome question, yes you can use the Carpuride's reverse camera for a front camera no problem just run the wire and camera positionally at the front wherever you want it to face .. I'm doing that on my Saab as well I'll have that video up and about possibly four weeks so if you buy one of these Carpuride head units ...can use reverse camera as the front camera and of course also have the dash cam front camera as well with this particular unit... The other option is by a different version of the Carpuride head unit it comes with the reverse camera (watch my Volvo XC 90 install head unit ) and just plug that into the camera port and have a second screen Dilley for Apple CarPlay which will do the Apple CarPlay and does the front facing camera then... The only thing you have to do is why the trigger wire to maybe the fog lights when you switch the fog lights on the camera automatically activates and comes on the screen ...fog lights are good point of reference point to connect the camera to because that's what you need anyway if you're looking at parking with a good light, let me know if that's answering your question 👍 awesome cheers Andrew

Micheal nice to meet you ;) I haven't loaded up yet I've got it on my phone .... I'll load it up now and I'll give you the link here ...and I'll update it all in the Description Feld in all the videos .. there is a slight little trick to it... but it works perfectly...it had to make it the correct format size for the particular screen size of the Carpuride head unit 👍 I'll give you the info on the app I used to "re size it" from a standard iPhone photo size.. to the correct one that the head unit will only accept... just give me a few hours to load it up ;) thank Michael.

Get Wonbo great question and sorry if the late reply, this is a very clever reverse camera wiring set up for the reverse camera as it picks up the "black ground / neutral" from the head unit itself therefore there's no need to find that ground in the back light wiring harness area, so yes when your car is put into reverse it'll trigger automatically turn on the reverse camera by the switch wire from the reverse light live feed and the unit then want the reverse camera on permanently while in drive ...it will then automatically override that reverse gear switching when you select the cameras option on the main menu dashboard (the blue button in lower left corner on main Carpuride menu) then the dual camera set up will be shown on the screen ...so the reverse camera feed will be on by it using the switching from within the head unit to active the reverse camera view while driving ....is pretty cool actually, no other head unit on the market has "dual cameras" and "dual recording" as I know .....it's a magnificent little unit really high polished good quality and some of the leading RU-vidrs is in the world that using the Carpuride units as a car unit for testing and for their Apple updates Software, it's the best unit in the market ...hope that helps let me know what you think any more questions more than happy to help cheers Andrew

Hey Tom, thank you so much that's an awesome feedback again really appreciate it, yep we're so lucky with the BMW 's they have a nice flap over Rubber edge you can really hide these little tiny reverse cable wires in quite easily and you need to do any intrusive digging around or pulling off panels it looks so good they haven't moved or budged the wires are nicely neatly hidden still... it was a really great little pro tip :) have a great day awesome cheers Andrew

Hey balaz sorry for late reply I'm just going to my comments now, no problem at all you can ask Carpuride by sending them your boot up screen logo to them before... or you can actually use my one they've got mine on file or you can create your own one but it's easier to use find some wallpaper and you can then find an app eraser and you can erase the background of any logo you want to make a "mask" once you make a mask ..you put the mask on the background in an app called InShot and then what you do you can then make it the exact size that they request for that particular unit ....you sent it to them ... the factory install it for you before it arrives failing that I've got a whole video had to do it when they send you the file and you copy out to in a thumb drive you pushing the side of the unit and you booted it up it loads the boot up screen for you, to me it was very important and makes the car look more integrated it makes it look better... albeit it it's only on for three seconds but it makes all the difference LOL :) you can friend me on Facebook I can give you information or send you a video how to do it but the company will look after you have a great day this is an awesome setup cheers Andrew

Hey Steve great to hear from you thank you so much for awesome feedback, look it's not hard to do at all and I proved that it's so simple it's going to work out beautifully...the wiring to the reverse light of the Carpuride camera is so well designed the beauty is this camera picks up the earth or neutral from the head unit so no need to find that ...it's easy to install the reverse camera ...you can just hide a tuck down the door trims you can get creative on where to hide the wiring.. it's so simple, but this Carpuride unit is solid as ...I've had my two units and both my Volvo and Saab for about 12 months and I've hammered them left them in the Sun 43° C heat one day in summer here in Australia they don't flinch they don't glitch at all ... absolutely iPhone level quality ... you'll be very impressed they really are the best Units on the market., So enjoy Steve and thank you so much for awesome feedback and complementary appreciation it makes my day, any issues let me know can PM me through Facebook or you can ask questions here I'll check back in a week have an awesome week, any issues let me know I can get in contact with the Carpuride company within 20 minutes that's a beauty of being a YT reviewer ...enjoy ....that W903 unit you bought is just amazing congratulations well done cheers Andrew ;)

Hey MoistAnt great to meet you sorry for the late reply. No you have no problem with that with the family each person sets up their phone when each get in the car and it finds the phone in automatically set up CarPlay for that particular user ... if three people get in the car and automatically sinks to one of them you can just go to the Blue turn that one off on the phone and connect the other one on the Bluetooth phone is clicks in automatically and syncs them ... I've tested up to I don't know something like 7 phones so it's pretty cool probably as many phones as you want, in terms of microphone uses a really good inbuilt on the unit microphone built into the system and quite frankly it's pretty sharp and clear... as I had a very full integrated system on my last install before installing this one... they put in with a separate microphone cable under the sun visor on my old unit and it wasn't as good as this this one frankly... works beautifully so you can put on separate cable adaptive mic to plug into on the side of Unit and run it round to the sun visor out dash area if you want.. if you're in an area of busy lounge noise.. that would be an option you could do but you won't need honestly.. to it's pretty good with the windows closed sounds crystal clear, Carpuride Unit's are brilliant... just go ahead and order one get one put it in follow my installation easy peazy your great set up extremely robust solid Car systems the bees knees the only one I'd recommend Have a great day cheers Andrew

I'm installing it in the BMW i3 it the most amazing install showcasing the functionalities of the unit and this clever location install into this beautiful piece of German technology and design engineering... the BmW i3 ;) introducing a 3rd screen to the i3 that looks absolutely amazing;) It will be out within 2 weeks :) I'm just awaiting the delivery ;) This is a must see install:) cheers Andrew

No worries, all you got to do is make up your own boot up photo for the boot up screen you can do that with many apps I might do a video how I did mine, .. essential all I did was get some wallpaper (I used carbon fibre) and then use an app to make the "BMW logo masks" which you screen shot from searches... that is get the emblem and cut out the background as make a mask... and place those masks where you want the best app for that is "InShot" and app to make the masks is "Magic Eraser" App will remove the background of the logos once you have the logos you open up the InShot app and load the Carbon Fibre wall paper then use the app to over lay the mask where you want,,, I use carbon fibre wallpaper, once you've done that save the photo ... you check them with Carpuride the right "format size" for your screen and then once you've got that Ratio size you just email them get Carpuride to actually load it for you on you head unit before shipping.. or you can get them to send the file to load yourself on an thumb drive after receiving the unit... I have got a video on how to do it by the thumb drive and I'll show you how to do that in a video coming up soon.. it does look really good though ...I must admit more factory fit look...albeit it's only displayed on for four seconds on boot up.. but it makes the world a difference ;)

High big:) great question all this modern head units now come with the option of only needing ton pick up the positive active switch wire for the reverse camera... the negative or the earth wire to complete the circuit for the reverse camera is picked up from the actual head unit, itself... that meaning, you don't have to find a negative at the tail light area or from some other negative or earth component area... you just got to solder out attach the red switch wire active wire to the BMW's reverse light positive and the negative is picked up from the head unit when the wire runs back to that ...so it makes wiring up reverse cam super easy, hope that makes sense and helps day cheers Andrew

Hey @onis ;) sorry for the late reply it's been crazy trying to get to the comments look at the backup camera on my BMW I3 is pretty average too ... you can definitely use these Carpuride cameras they're brilliant super sharp night vision everything comes in the box with it if you had that ordered as a camera back up kit .. as well, so just take out the box and run it through the car if you watch this video how I ran it under the trim it's so easy and disconnected to one of the tail lights the white "reverse light" it picks up the negative or the other side the earth lead from the head unit itself .... so no need to try to find a negative wire at the light ... so easy to install you just find the light that does your reverse white light and just wrap it around that solder it on it in like on this video then tuck it under the bumper the trick will be how to get it from there into the back area of your Terrain... under Carpet it's pretty straightforward watch this video on the BMW 118I then follow same procedure... run under the door trim of your terrain, and you just run it up behind the dash plug it into the head unit and then your camera will override that when you put it in reverse now in terms your current reverse camera on the terrain which does override that I think this may override that camera and both your reverse cameras will work your 2 screens .. the original screen of your terrain but also this one on the head unit so you're essentially have two reverse cameras screens LOL but that's pretty better, let me know if that helps cheers Andrew

Hey par7688 nice to meet you and thanks for your question, well that's a really great theory and idea and you can do that but this set up was set up as it was look like a factory install more permanent job .... but you could easy and click it out .. and put it into another car.. you will need to order a second power supply from the company because you'll need to then have that in the other car to plug that plug it in as it runs on the 12 V battery, so essentially you can do that and this way .... This set up on this BMW was a little bit more permanent with the tape behind it in that Sunglasses holder area.... but you could effectively put Velcro there lift it off it and put it in the next car with one of their many car holders that come in the box ...they have about four different versions ... for free... so if you have two or three cars at home if you just buy this unit do this install on the BMW if you got a BMW like this put Velcro instead of tape just in Velcro it it pull it out and then just click it into their multifunctional fittings ...they have on the other car and then plug it into an extra power supply you will be need to order when you order this unit and that will then power that other second or third car up and you can un click it put your pocket and walk off down the road after you lock the car so yes you can do all that, but a phone won't do it this .... these is a highly integrated designed Apple CarPlay units ... where Apple iPhones and android devices don't have this functionality you actually use Apple CarPlay from the device phone itself ...you can't do it with those sorry, hope that helps let me know cheers Andrew

Hey Joe, sorry for late reply yes it has Apple CarPlay car mirroring so once you get RU-vid app on your phone you can mirror it to the Unit I think that if you're going to do that you might as well watch it through your phone but if you want that on a slightly wider screen it would work well Also same option for Netflix once viewing on your phone you can mirror it to the unit I think there's also also Netflix app I haven't looked into that yet you have to get that from via android Google play store not Apple, hope that helps conditions cheers Andrew

Her Raka ;) nice to hear from you and thanks for your question sorry for late reply, look it's not laser etched in or cut in its smooth printing and could be easily sprayed over lightly if you wanted to do the whole bezel ... or maybe black texted (felt pen) to hide it .....personally it doesn't bother me after a couple of drives I forgot it was even there !!!! the carpuride symbol is becoming like a BMW / Porsche symbol it's a number one head unit in the world that it's actually quite nice to have the Carpuride branding on there ...because it's a high-quality Unit, but personally if you want to get rid of it I would just do a nice black pen Texter cover it ...or you could buy a BMW Sticker / badging lapel maybe BmW tie clip and stick it on with hot glue gun over it maybe a BMW key ring with some BMW vertical branding writing on a metal keyring type thing that would be easy to go over it as well .....that look better hope that helps cheers Andrew

Hey analytical ;) you could put subwoofers from your own car system and that would come through more bass... but remember the Carpuride system connects to your "own car speakers" via either Bluetooth of the car (if your car is new) , but if your car is older your then go through the FM transmitter station ....and then all your speakers of the car power this unit or other way round ....so therefore you'll get the perfect sound from your car speakers .. that little speaker on the unit you can turn off... use that but it's not a bad speaker but nothing like your own car speakers so I hope that helps let me know cheers Andrew

Hey Steve nice to hear from you so when you're saying locked out are using iOS Apple phone or are using android as your phone ? You shouldn't get locked out because they're just reflects and flows through directly from your phone to the head unit so there's really nothing to be locked out for .... I have no problems with Apple maps or Google Maps and Ways maps through this Carpuride Unit let me know more when you mean locked out what do you mean Maps doesn't come up on the head Unit? Hey Dominic Thanks for your question and sorry for the late reply, look I was impressed with the length of cable but this was only a BMW118 I quite a smaller vehicle and it did go all the way around to the dash area ... with plenty of slack leftover probably close to 2 1/2 to 3 feet, I have Volvo XC 90 it's pretty long vehicle and I would estimate that this would have no problem in getting from the reverse camera to the dash area and also being able to tuck in around all the trims, I would say though you won't have a lot of length to play if going around or under the seat and the yo the centre console you'll probably have to take a like I did straight along the side and up into the top dash area by the side door trims and that way you'll have plenty of length of cable for an SUV for sure ;) however if you want to mount the unit down low near the gearstick on the lower part of the dash you then have to run it under the seat through the centre console and it would still make it all the way there as well ...as that would be a shorter distance too. ... definitely simple set up the reverse camera picks up the neutral ground from the head unit itself so that's it's a closed circuit wiring you just need the trigger switch off the reverse Active light on the rear light from the tail light ;) easy peazy hope that helps cheers Andrew
