Great video... I received my W701 Plus last week and I wish that it had a steering wheel controller feature like the Pro models do. I understand this is an Android tablet and not a Linux OS like the others, but it's a lost feature that I wish was still present.
It is Android, yes. In terms of steering wheel, only volume up, volume down, skip forward, previous song and mute work in my car, but I'd say that's good enough. Let me have a look at what the Pro models offer
@@QuickExpertReviews I assume that you are only getting the skip forward and previous song buttons to work when connected to your stereo via Bluetooth? Otherwise, this feature is not possible. The Pro models differ from the base model in the fact that the Pro models introduced dual Bluetooth. Base models and Pro models run on the Linux OS.
I have an rca (with 2.5mm adapter) backup camera. Trying to find out if that will work with this as Carpuride doesn't know apparently. I have tried other dash units that only work with 4/5 pin camera. Maybe someone who reads this might know if you dont. Thanks for the review
That's a good question. It does have normal WiFi so it allows to connect any WiFi device, however I'm not sure how it would work, as it needs to be connected via both Bluetooth and WiFi to your phone to have the internet connection shared from the phone for Maps etc.
@@QuickExpertReviews yeah that's the question - if it gets the gps signal from the phone via the bluetooth or the wifi? I'm looking to be able to drive with split screen using carplay gps and at the same time have the camera running it's own app
In theory if you connect the Carpuride to an iPhone via bluetooth and go into settings for that connected device on the Carpuride, it should perhaps have an option saying something about internet access
I can try, but I don't have an iPhone, but I've also reached out to Carpuride who helped me get the review unit and see if they can help answer that question.
