I love seeing Carrie's interviews. It brings her back to life. Awesome lady. RIP.
@EdsterIII

Carrie was such a beautiful woman. I see all the hateful comments about her issues. As if these people are so perfect that it gives them the authority to condemn those with problems. She was incredibly talented, funny, witty, and again gorgeous. She gave so many girls a lift from Star Wars. So many Princesses were born from that character. She is and will ALWAYS be a BELOVED character. RIP Carrie Fisher. We miss your smile. We miss your wit, and we miss YOU!!

Such a warm and delightful woman she was aside from being a smokeshow in her prime. I'd met her three different times at conventions over the years, and she was as witty, funny, and gracious as one would expect. She may be gone but she's still very much with us in other ways.

I love Star Wars, but what I really admire about Carrie is her advocacy for bipolar/manic depressive people. I am bipolar 1 as she was and I’ve been hospitalized 3 times. She inspired me to talk about my own experiences and it helped me deal with it.

@EdsterIII

I've heard she was very nice. She did have some issues with the Princess Leia "defining" her. But she accepted it and became very gracious to her fans. She unlike Harrison Ford saw it as love, respect, and admiration, where as Ford saw it as a nuisance and a irritant. Mark Hamill also embraced it. Star Wars made them into SUPERSTARS. Carrie was what 18 or 19? She was a bit overwhelmed I'm sure at first. As the next two movies became more and more of a huge monster hit, again I'm sure it was a bit unnerving. As I mentioned in a different comment, so much hate has been said about her issues. Her depression and subsequent drug use. That is so sickening. So many people feel they have a right to be a judge and condemn people. Carrie has some serious mental issue that sadly really hurt her. But NOBODY is perfect. NOBODY has the right to judge anyone. Only ONE has that right and NONE of us are Him. She overcame her problems thankfully. Depression and Bi-polar disorder are serious issues that are NOTHING to be laughed at or judged. I've also seen comments about her being rich and how can someone with money have issues? It shows right there that mental illness shows NO SPECIFICS. ANYONE can have it. To judge someone for it can come back to haunt you. People can have this without ANY family member knowing it, until sometimes sadly it's too late. When I was young and didn't understand how harsh addiction and mental illness was I didn't give it much thought. I didn't condemn anyone, but I also didn't again pay much attention to it. But we had alcoholism in our family. Then later a friend. I AWESOME and SWEET woman. A young girl, only 22 years old didn't show up for work. Next day same thing. We had met when she worked at the corner gas station when she was 18 or 19. She was a small gal. About 5' tall. Small stature but a HUGE LAUGH and I loved hearing her giggle. She left there and ended up as our overnight cashier, where I was the 3rd shift manager. We already knew each other but we became friends. I WISH I would have knew her better. I also knew her brother. Very smart and quiet. She was quiet and shy but once you knew her she LOVED to JOKE AND LAUGH! By the third day she didn't show I knew something was wrong. It was then I learned she committed suicide. She suffered from depression. But very FEW knew it. She qas very quiet as I said. Her personal life was just that HER LIFE. She let some in but always kept a distance. I understood that because I had been hurt so I did it too. Except she also didn't want anyone too close. I hear people say WHY didn't anyone do anything? Sometimes there is NO WARNING. Even her family was kept at a distance. She was very smart. Did extremely well in school. But didn't have a lot of direction. Now that I think about it maybe it was chaotic in her mind. Colleges and parents pulling one way, friends another, and she, herself unsure and confused. She really did have such a possibly bright future. Which AGAIN goes to show that mental illness can strike ANYONE. Now Carrie DIDN'T do this. I ONLY brought it up to show that depression can be hidden and can really destroy a life, MANY LIVES. It isn't something ANY of us have ANY right to judge. NONE of us have any right to do that. So enough hate. What always puzzles me is if you dislike someone so much that you'll bash and trash them in a comment, or that your even looked into the video? Again given the fact that you "hate" this person? Makes me wonder if their lives are so empty they scan You Tube looking for people they can belittle to give themselves credibility. Just a thought.

Hope she had a lithotripsy with that kidney stone: first thing they do is make the patient comfy with anesthesia, then have them climb onto a weird looking table, give them some snooze juice, and use sound waves to pulverize the kidney stone so that it washes away with urination, and the operation doesn't hurt at all... I miss her sense of humor and personality so much. Love you both, Carrie, Debbie...

Madonna made a very crude appearance on David Letterman on March 31, 1994 and offered him a pair of her previously worn panties and asked him to sniff them. The clip is also on RU-vid. I’m guessing this interview took place shortly after that one. Offering diapers is a send up of that event.
