Carrie was such a great character. I know she didn't think she looked like her Mum but she was a mixture of Debbie and Eddie. A very nice looking extremely talented Lady. RIP.
If you read Carrie's book Wishful Drinking, she clearly states that she was close with her father. She lived with her mother most of the time but that still doesn't mean Carrie didn't love her father.
Jimin's high note in House Of Cards - Carrie has been quoted as saying that her father would only show up when he wanted something. She wanted to be close to her father and she gave it a try, but Eddie didn't want to know, so Carrie let him go. He was one of those irresponsible fathers who want all the fun but none of the responsibility of raising children. He was like that with his two children by Debbie Reynolds and his two daughters by Connie Stevens.
@@gaynor1721 Agnostics don't necessarily NOT believe in god, they just don't feel they have enough evidence to believe one way or another. Atheists are the ones who don't believe. If she was agnostic, she was at least open to the possibility of SOMETHING being out there. And if there was when she passed, her first words were probably something along the lines of "...Well, shit!"
I don't think Debbie HATED Eddie, she has joked about him in some interviews. But I have heard her talk about him a few times in more serious discussions where it comes off that she was more hurt by him then hating him. She was young she had thought she met the man of her dreams but it proved not to be. She was innocent and trusting her next two husbands bankrupted her. Which is why she has completely sworn off marriage.
Well, he had a few wives---- who helped him have four children total. It seems that over the years all the wives and children were unanimously amazed that he had no familial instinct. In his last years Carrie took care of him, and had accepted his good side along with the bad. In an interview she mentions how much he loved her, but was a different kind of person who seemed to accept no responsibility for others.
So Eddie had a few wives, his last wife was his best and longest marriage. She passed away in 2001. At least he found happiness in his later years, unlike some of his ex-wives.
