I will forever respect this woman after that tribute. Not much has been said about George Michael since he died and I loved him. Thank you so much, Carrie Underwood, for such a beautiful tribute to George Michael! Awesome!!
I reckon she did King George proud. Gotta be deaf not to recognize how gorgeous her take on it was and how careful she was honoring the original. Carrie rocked this and King George would have loved it.
Reading, as an article mentioned "Carrie Underwood says the songs and voice of the late George Michael "helped to teach me how to sing." Yes, only one GM for sure but you did a fantastic job Carrie Underwood I will say.
This is absolutely a beautiful version of George Michael's version of One More Try I'm getting goosebumps loved George Michael too and Carrie crushed it
Everything Carrie does is Gold! I truly think This is An Amazing Tribute to George Michael! And I know times have changed, but I was taught that if you didn't have something nice to say, shut up and/or leave! Seriously People! ❤
Very nice tribute! I so love seeing American Idol winners succeeding as idols. I have always thought Carrie was a stellar addition to the Country/Western genre. She is a modern classic. This rendition made me tear up. I loved me some George Michael. Added: She is rocking that outfit! When you got'em, flaunt 'em hunty.
thanks for sharing. been very impatiently waiting for more than the 20 second clip. carrie must have been sooo nervous, both in honoring someone who has passed away & that she is such a huge fan of. one of my favorite GM songs, she did a gorgeous job, as always. ❤❤❤❤ not sure about the change in the instrument arrangement at the end but maybe that sounds better on the official video. much love to carrie and george.
It’s like people don’t understand a tribute🤦♀️ is she George? No.. did she give her heart and soul to his song? Yes.. has she always loved him since a child? Yes.. relax people.. my god it’s never good enough..🙄
It’s One More Try, not On More Try! Apart from that spelling error, it’s obvious that Carrie Underwood’s one of my favorite singers of all time and her voice is incredible no matter what song she does, George Michael would be pleased!
Didn't realize Carrie had a difficult time with this tribute to George. It wasn't the song. it was Carrie realizing she won't be able to fulfill her last wish. Sing with him. And it hitting Carrie while she was singing this song and honoring him by holding her emotions in check. As Carrie said she got backstage and finally let her emotions go.
No diss to Carrie she definitely has a great voice, yet she should of left this song alone. IDK why the "Diva Mimi" didn't make an appearance to pay homage to George by singing this song. Seeing they were friends & Mariah actually covered "One More Try."
@@216NumbskullAre you that dumb? You just literally dissed her,you would have to be dumb not to see that. What do you have against her,is she not popular enough, too country not talented enough, what is it? What a bunch of elitist music snobs you all are,it’s a TRIBUTE,that’s the entire point, she’s not going to sound exactly like him,I don’t see YOU up there trying to do that song. Unless you have her awards, talent or success, you have no room to criticize her for something I bet you can’t even do.She wasn’t going to leave this song alone, she did a beautiful job, probably a way better job than any of you armchair critics on here could ever do. Mariah wasn’t available so deal with it and get over it.
No one gets it right. It’s not just about bellowing from the lungs. He could do that but you could feel so much more in both the quiet and loud in every line he sung. This is good singing. But he was truly great. And they are a million miles apart.
Of course nobody is going to be able to replicate his voice,it’s like someone trying to replicate an Aretha song,it’s a near impossibility to get it even close to the original but people can try.Is it not enough she has loved his songs for years and has credited him for shaping her own music and her voice? Nobody said her voice had to sound like his. She did an incredible rendition, period.
It’s not supposed to come close to his voice,do you even know how a tribute works? The least you could’ve said was that she was talented,it’s not hard to say that.
I felt she did pretty good ,but of course, no one can ever cover George's songs like he covered other artist songs. I wish Sam Smith could have been chosen for this cover.
Is anything ever good enough for any of you? She sang the song,Sam didn’t so get over it. It’s called a tribute for a reason, nobody is ever going to come close to that, they can try but it’s not always going to sound like the exact way he sang the song.
Not bad I could tell she could not hit all the notes. Her voice could not do it she give it a go mind. Just shows how powerful george voice was .George voice was best ever . You can say only elvis had a better voice. George micheal was my favourite best song writer ever sad still miss him xx
You must be deaf to think she missed any notes. I don’t see any of you critics up there attempting to do his songs so criticizing someone for something you can’t do is dumb. She can hit notes that I bet you can’t.Her voice is incredible,so I have no idea of what your deal is with her.
Several high ones I think she missed, but I don’t think it was her inability to hit them because we all know she can. It was more in the technical way she was singing this was in a lower range for Carrie and it can be difficult to go from the low, strong chest voice to her head voice.

Yes, it did. It was a beautiful rendition and a tribute to a man she absolutely adored. No one can ever sing it better than GM, and she is not trying to, but to me ,she did him proud. Carrie is awwsome
Could you have done any better?I doubt you could’ve. It does not sound like karaoke and she’s not straining to be a rockstar.Unless any of you keyboard warriors think you could do any better than someone that has more awards than you could ever dream of to back up that talent, you have no business criticizing her.
She did awesome. No one can sing Carrie Underwood songs quite like her either, and she wasn't trying to upstage GM. No one can, not with his songs, but she did a great job, and it was a special tribute to a singer she absolutely adored
