Carrie Underwood's National Anthem 

This is how the Anthem should be performed, I hate it when people ruin it by exaggerating it and trying to put their own spin on it.

What's great is how she gets the entire stadium to sing with her.

she didn't make the song about her. thats why i love it. no excessive riffs and breaths

her attitude is just right for the song, the voice is good enough. and the lyrics is heard clearly, a little cute with her accent, and no twisting. that is how the anthem should be sung.

I much prefer this classic style versus the "see me" overly exaggerated style

Not only is her voice amazing but she managed to do what most national anthem singers cannot do. Stay on tune and not change keys during the song. That's what separates the good from the great. Congratz you have my approval.

I was at this game. Crowd was singing with Carrie, who was just coming off her Idol win Best version of the Anthem ever! And 4 Black Hawk choppers flew right over the Stadium!

This is perfection and how the song is supposed to be sung. "Oh say" and "can you see" are ONE SENTENCE, not two how other singers try to change that and everything under the sun. Just sing the damn song and stop trying to put a twist on it.

As an Irishman this is by far the best version I've heard of the anthem No BS "look at me" holding notes for 10seconds or uuuh or aaaas. Brilliant beautiful version

What many people fail to see is that by singing it's original form it INCLUDES EVERYONE to sing in UNISON. That is the REAL inspiration of saying it and by EVERYONE joining in...it honors the flag, country, and those who died for it. Not to mention...those currently serving it. The national anthem is NOT about a singer trying to sing it in their 'own' way. It's about preserving and honoring the history and and courage behind it. When a star performer sings it in 'their' own 'style'...that's called a 'remake'. But anybody can do that. And by doing so, it renders and reduce the national anthem to nothing more than a vain embellishment of the singer and thus honoring his/herself. Instead of giving respect to where it's due. It takes a LOT of humility to put the light on it's actual intent of unifying the people instead of oneself. (What most singers lack these days.) But when a singer actually MOVES EVERYONE to JOIN IN UNISON...THAT is true humility and respect. Heck, you can even tell that it's not done often that it actually shows the players awe struck by looking around as if it never happened before.

Wow. Someone said this was boring and dull. I love the fact that she doesn't try to make it her own like other artists do with a bunch of fancy, stupid, random-sounding runs that almost completely change the melody of the song. I love how you can actually hear the crowd singing along with her--and they could do this because she didn't ruin it by changing the melody and doing all of the stupid crap other artists do. And it's a testament to the power and beauty of her voice that she can just simply sing the simple melody without really changing much and it stands on its own. In fact, after Whitney's version, I think this is the second best rendition.

She is a beautiful woman inside and out I saw her in concert two years. I could have done without the 3 opening acts. But she was worth the wait.

I have heard this song over done so many times with the riffs that I actually thought the original song only had those in it.

Bravo Carrie! You don't have to change the tune to adjust to your voice like many other celebrities who can't make the grade...
