No Dreamcast survival horror review series is complete with out Blue Stinger. Get it done!!!

Was aware of carrier for a while, but after seeing what it looks like, I’m definitely wanting to check it out. The dreamcast had some interesting survival horror games on there, especially D2, Blue Stinger and illbleed. Carrier seems like it could fit into that mold well.

Finally giving Carrier a little love for the masses, its one of those formulaic survival horror games, but it has enough original touches to distinguish itself from the other offers in Dreamcast catalog. Since you're covering this topic, would you consider making more Dreamcast reviews together with SH retrospective?

The look of the main character reminds me a bit of the characters from Hard Edge (T.R.A.G.) on PS1. Not the best game but I loved it back in the days.

I really enjoyed Carrier back in the day and had a great time with it and thought it was awesome. Don't know how I would feel when I would play it today. Oh my god, you reviewed this game, I was hoping you might be another soul that played this survival horror gem. This game alone is worth the reason I still have my Dreamcast, well one of several since there's never been a good, proper DC Collection or Virtual Console service of their titles. Too many good, campy Survival Horror gems on that console even if some are just ports. I do agree and admit this game screams RE-Clone from the get-go, but sometimes being a clone isn't a bad thing especially if you carry the spirit of what you're copying in the right places. Sure it gets things wrong too and the cheesy dialogue can ruin the actually decent plot, but I still enjoy it. Kinda wish this game was more popular, maybe get a remaster or something but that's just me. Great video sir!

First game I bought for my dreamcast back in 2000. I never finished this game, but I really did like it. Jaleco was my company back in the snes days(brawl bros!!) So I picked this up. Great review

I remember quite enjoying this back in the day. I got a huge kick out of all the survival horror games on the dream cast, like this, Illbleed and Blue Shift. I under no circumstances want to go back and waste my time playing any of them again... Maybe Carrier though, just cause I did really like the setting of being on a super carrier.

Eyyy you mentioned the magazine demo disk! That's the only place I think I've seen this game. Before your video, I assumed it never actually released.

I vaguely remember this game, it didn't release officially in the UK to my knowledge so I had to get it on import.

Instead of a reticule a laser sight might have been a good idea that wouldn't break immersion by creating a red line between the weapon and where you're aiming (its not really how laser sights work but probably more realistic than the reticule).

You are a fantastic creator with a great unique niche--you appeal to RE fans while also exploring other ps1 games us 90s kids never got a chance to try. Please keep up the hard work, and think hard about where your next move is. I don't want to see someone with your passion and curiosity hit a dead end by running out of games to check out.

Jeleco does a good job developing games that twist genres like how _Vanark_ on the ps1 is a unique Starfox64 rail-shooter. Also _Carrier's_ setting would work for a COD game. I recognized that scene from _Zombie's Revenge._ Is that your next review?

The Jaleco label is generally a sign what you're getting will be weird. Brahma Force was a pretty great little game for the PS1, but the ending totally blew my mind when I was young. Also had some above average voice acting.

I had a lot of fun with this game and lol moments too. The best way is to play it is with Japanese audio. That colonel shout doesn’t happen in the Japanese audio. He merely whisper it. Plus the voice acting is so much more believable.

I did enjoy my time with Carrier, but you can definitely tell it's not quite as polished or budgeted as Resident Evil. Some nice twists on the formula though, and it's infinitely better than that Evil Dead RE Clone :P Also JARED! JARED! JARED!

Avalanche my man I really think there are other games that can lay claim to starting the Survival horror genre before RE. The one that comes to mind would be Alone in the Dark on the pc. Also sweet home on the NES.

It's understandable that Dreamcast gave have an arcade feel, considering how many Naomi2 games were perfectly ported over.

this story is kinda similar to this weird anime called "Genocyber" which also has weird bio-creature infesting a futuristic aircraft carrier that was built by a super-national one world government locked in a conflict with rebels in a near future setting.

And here I thought I was the only person in the universe who knew this game existed. Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare next please.

Hello mister avalanche, love your channel. That said, Alone in the Dark started the whole Survival Horror genre in 1992, not RE.

You should check out Deep Fear on the Saturn. Pretty interesting seeing survival horror from Sega themselves. Also the voice acting is… something else.

Ever played Cover Ops Nuclear Dawn (know as Chase the Express). An action game that plays a lot Resident Evil.

Wait, what did you say the ship was called? I just finished a series of JRPG's called Trails of Cold Steel and the capital is called Heimdallr, the 'r' is silent, making it pronounced the same lol. Also, I love that they named the handgun the "19 O'clock", perfectly ridiculous.

Avalanche please have a look at PS2 Extermination and Sega Saturns Deep Fear, IMHO they are very underrated!
