I've had a couple of these trailers from Carry On. They are the perfect size for your intended use. I bought mine to use behind my 4 cylinder old Toyota truck. Even with the trailer overloaded a little for a dump run, it works just fine. A few upgrades I have done and highly recommend. 1) Once the tires wear down, replace them with the next size larger. Along with that change, do a spring-over-axle swap for more ground and fender clearance. You might have to weld on new spring perches to the axle if yours has camber built in from the factory. My second trailer had that. Easy job. I also used new U-bolts since the old stuff was just rusty enough, and new bolts aren't too costly. 2) Repack those axle bearings sooner than later. I have found some that had very little grease from the factory. It is an easy job, just a little messy at times. If they are still the same axle setup as they have been, the bearing pre-load setup leaves a little too much slop. Might need a thin washer or two in there. You'll see it when you dig in. 3) Carry a spare tire. The tires available for this size trailer are not very tough. I got a HF spare tire side mount and cut it down/welded/modified it to sit nice and tight to the trailer side just ahead of the starboard wheel. 4) LED lights. Yeas, they make that style of light in an LED. I didn't bother swapping them until the original lights got broken and bashed, usually from rolling firewood rounds. Haven't done it yet, but I have always planned to bend up some round stock and make a tail light guard like you see on Range Rovers and such. The advantage I found to LED lights is that they seem to work fine even if your grounds are not that great. There are probably more that I am not recalling right now, but you are on the right track with what you mentioned. My trailers have covered many thousands of miles and hauled thousands of pounds of junk, motorcycles, lawn mowers and firewood. Basic maintenance is the key.

Thanks for the tips! I am going to look at the spring over axle swap. More ground clearance would be nice. As soon as I get new axle seals, the bearings are getting repacked.

I have the 5 by 10 version of this trailer that’s about three years old now. Nice trailer for what I use it for. I put a Wood floor and side walls in mine since the expanded metal floor in the trailer is kind of flimsy and started to sag from the weight of the zero turn mower that I carry. Also I highly recommend getting a jack with the crazy wheel attached! The trailer is so much easier to push around with it! Just grab the tailgate, push it over to the truck, push down and drop the hitch over the ball! Makes hookup a breeze! I hope with the way the tailgate is now hinged that they beefed up the tailgate as I’d be afraid of bowing the tailgate if whatever you haul has much weight in it. God luck with yours. Mine has served me well!

Great video, thanks. Yours is the first and only one I've seen that showed the tail gate folded in. Also, I just got a newer version of this trailer. I went out to see if my tail gate would fold in like yours, but mind wont. Mind will fold in, but not flat. Good enough I guess.

I just went and looked at one of these at tractor supply but it seemed really flimsy at the front. I could flex the whole trailer just by pushing down on the front

Yes, they are kind of flimsy. They really need a triangulate tongue (a-frame) to increase their rigidity. I didn't need an overly strong trailer for how I will be using this one, so it's OK that it's not very rigid.

Is there a maximum speed you can go with those tires? Are they rated for more than 45 mph?

Tires are marked Speed Rating "L" 75 MPH.

Is that tailgate/ramp sturdy enough to load a riding lawnmower?

I don't think it would be strong enough for a riding mower.

Was wondering because. I just bought a 5x8 trailer used and I have 2 ball on my truck but it doesn’t fit but it does fit 1-78 ball so I’m guessing it’s 1-78 coupler
