In the statistics for each actor, the numbers given for TV episodes are for the Carry On Laughing TV series only. These figures do not include any other TV shows they may have done outside of Carry On.
@percy6383
@percy6383 2 года назад
I don’t follow your logic. If you are talking about carry on episodes, then the figures cannot be correct. I have seen numerous carry on films, almost all, on TV at one time or another in my 71 years.

In 1975, there was a television series called Carry On Laughing. There were 13 episodes made of this series altogether. This is where the TV episode numbers are taken from for this video.

I met June Whitfield in 1984, she was lovely. I also saw Sidney James walking down Skegness pier around 1971, I was with my mum and grandma and we were going to see him in a comedy play in the theatre at the end of the pier. He was walking right in front of us all the way along and my grandma told me to get his autograph but I was too shy. Brilliant cast and films, saucy seaside humour, I will always treasure these films.

For sure. I also met Les Dawson at a fete and I did get his autograph and I remember he didn’t put with love on the card so my grandma took it back to him and complained and he added it! Talk about embarrassing! I saw Norman Wisdom at Skegness pier theatre as well in his live show, he was very naughty and very funny. I didn’t get to meet him though. We will never see acts like these ever again, sadly. Thanks for the video🙂

Unfortunately, for them to still be around now (over 50 years since the heyday) the cast would be around 80 or 90 years old now. It is very sad knowing only Jim Dale and Julian Holloway are about the only male regular cast still alive now, with Anita Harris and Angela Douglas being a couple of females still with us

Sidney James had the kind of face only his mother would love. Kenneth Williams. I live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and used to go to the movies a lot when I was a teenager. In the fifties and early sixties Quebec had the strictest censor board in North America and would cut out whole scenes from movies. Quebec politics was closely controlled by the church and even drive-ins were not permitted in the province. HOWEVER, the plays on words, the sexual innuendo, and all of the off=color jokes went right over the heads of the censors so the Carry On movies were screened in their entirety; much to the enjoyment of the English speaking audience!

Great movie's, great set's, great fun... Made in the same studio's as the Bond movie's, when the epic Cleopatra was being filmed it is was originally made in Pinewood Studios but complaints about the cold forced them to film abroad which left an entire set of Roman buildings behind.... hence 'Carry On Cleo'

We watched some of the early 1960s shows at the seaside picture theatre,. It wasn't called a 'cinema' in out part of the world then. Mum thought them 'naughty' and a bit 'smutty', but all that went over youngsters' heads. Now I'm an 'oldster' I can see what she saw, but I still laugh at the shows, my favourites being the later "Carry On Abroad" and "Carry On Girls", but that's not fair. They're all funny and thank goodness for TV reruns.
