People may dislike Cars 2, but the action sequences with Finn were true quality. The spy music in this movie absolutely slaps, and deserves recognition and respect.
I really enjoyed Cars 2. If there's anything that critics need to learn, it's that not every Pixar movie has to be an uber-heartfelt masterpiece. Pixar has the right to do fun, thrilling, action-packed movies every now and then. Michael Giacchino really knows how to compose awesome action music to match the high-speed action.
He's cool but he's really dumb, he doesn't figure out that the bumbling tow truck, that literally says he is *not* a spy, isn't a spy until the very end
It’s a really nice movie but doesn’t focus on McQueen and racing that’s why it gets hate. But I like seeing Mater making good contacts and saving racing, and having a future wife.
Well it's kind of an hot mess from a writing standpoint; still, take away the race and it would've made for a perfect Cars spinoff. That's the main problem, though: it's just not a "Cars" movie, it's way more of a spin-off than it should've been.
People didn’t like the sudden transition from racing to spy thriller which is why many people hate it. But, if you think about it, the storyline is better than all the movies Disney and Pixar posted from post-2011.
Having the retrospect that we eventually got Cars 3 and a "real sequel" definitely makes Cars 2 a fun little spinoff like Cars Toons. Cars 3 acted like Cars 2 didn't even exist so that's how I think of it in my mind.
I like to think that cars 2 was more of an experiment film that opens up the cars universe outside of racing while cars 3 is the true continuation of the racing storyline.
2:56 "Hey Professor Z, this is one of those British spies we were told you about"- Grem. Acer-" Yeah. This one we caught sticking his bumper where it didn't belong." Professor Z-"Agent Leland Turbo."
0:00 - 0:37 - You’ve just been grounded, for something you didn’t do. Your sister, your mom, your dad, everyone. You think this is it, when you remember that one last resort. 4:34 - 4:42 - you leap off the balcony and plummet towards the 10” snow that had fallen the night before. 4:42 - 4:58 - you fall into the snow. She is faster than you, and more athletic. So you run faster, desperate to escape. 5:02 - 5:14 - you are reaching your maximum speed. Your sister is right behind you. Her rotten breath breathing on your back. 5:15 - 5:24 - she reaches for your hoodie. You think your done for. It’s all over. You brave yourself, but nothing happens. Your sister missed, because she slipped! 5:24 - 5:57 - your sister gets back up, and your parents stand by her, watching you run away. They’ve lost. They know it. They head back inside. You’ve won. You speed towards your friends house, and you get there. You continue to stay there for the night.
Michael Giacchino's use of Bond-inspired elements in this track surpasses most of Thomas Newman's Skyfall scores (excluding the embedded surf-rock Cars 2 theme, of course), which brings up an interesting question: When is the Bond series going to get proper music? The imitations have the real thing.
I always liked Cars 2 but I can see why people have issues with it, I definitely do in some aspects but overall it’s an entertaining movie and that works for me
People say this movie is poorly executed, but it’s not. That one person started it and started changing everyone’s opinions, but my opinion will stay the same. IMO, this is the best movie to ever be executed by Pixar and Disney, comparing this movie to their movies from post-2011 and beyond. Edit: I see a _little_ Easter egg in the title…
