@@ZTB43 They did because they are voice by IRL Motorsport Chapman's named Jeff Gordon and Lewis Hamilton. They probably said to not have them get wrecked in the scene. Same with Cars 3, Disney told (Ryan) Blaney that he'd be involved so he told them to change the colors of the car he voices.
When I was like 7 years old, I would continuously recreate this scene with the toys. But now that I am watching it again, it does bother me quite a bit to know that practically none of the races were peaceful with no problems. But I still liked the movie to an extent Edit: I didn’t expect anyone be watching this or replying to me 11 months later
@@laevateintechnology5634 I just realized!!! Why not go for francesco?!!! Lightning is the closest to him at all times during races!just take out francesco, lightning gets caught in the crash,and your problem is solved!!!!

In the second race in Italy Cars who got hit by Professor Zündapp's Death ray camera in the second race in Italy, was Carla Veloso, Shu Todoroki. I don't know why but Carla is my favourite character in Cars 2. Also the yellow and black car that forgot the name should had some tiny health bar because they're breaks broke, too much pressure
I really like how the crash in Italy was handled, most of the cars crashing because they couldn’t stop in time, the music in the scene, and everyone’s reactions. Sure it wasn’t as big as the other crashes or as long but still I think it’s really realistic and well executed
That is true but I wonder why didn’t they have Jeff or Lewis get hit by the camera in any of the three races maybe the actors Jeff Gordon and Lewis Hamilton asked Pixar not to have their characters get hit by the camera
