All across the country now people selling vehicles for waaaay too much money. 5 years ago I bought a 1970 C20 with receipt for a crate motor that only had 4300 miles on it, no rust, I drove it home and licensed it for 4 years before I decided to build it my way. Oh yeah I paid 1,000 dollars for it
A few at a decent price, but most are way overpriced. I'd be embarrassed to ask some of those prices! I was thinking of selling or trading my 47 Ford Deluxe project, but seeing these, I think I'll keep it! Mine is in way better shape and I didn't give near that much for it!! I haven't gone to the Duck Tail for a few years, looks like I haven't missed much.

Looking at that 1940 Standard Coupe for $7500 is a steal! I bought my 40 Deluxe Coupe in Calif. in 2002, about the same condition and I paid $9000 for it. Spent eight years completely restoring it into a Resto-Mod w/Mustang II suspension and 351 W running gear.
@@THROTTLEPOWERThe wife and I went to car meets on weekends, but being ready to retire, I sold it to a friend who wanted to enter it in custom car shows. I was surprised when he won first place in the Resto-Mod class, at the Long Beach Concours De Elegance car show in 2012.
I didn't know rust cost that much? Probably can find a rot free western car that runs for less than trying to restore what are really parts cars, like rust free glass. Gives a new meaning to a Rot Rod.
I like to compare what it would cost to build one of these cars compared to what I can buy a 1998 to 2004 Corvette that needs nothing. Unless you enjoy sanding rust, there is no reason to buy these heaps at these prices.
First thing before buying is look underneath....on a lift is best. Eyeball frame.. suspension, hoses, cables and the floor. So many cars have sat with flat tires on wet grass, snow, rain...eats the frame up with rhe floors ..maybe not restorable...
A couple decent deals but it's likely everyone left with what they brought except maybe Doc, if his 41 Ford looked as good in person as it does on video he had it priced to sell imo. Thanks for the vid I enjoyed watching.
Appreciate the time you spend filming these ... most of these look like projects that ran out of time/money/ or enthusiasm ... I may be getting too old myself (kinda like those folks selling the cars) ... The area I tried growing up in there's was a guy named Bobby with an old Holmes Wrecker.Owned about a fourteen acre auto salvage farm house . Anyhow he would pull you out of almost any mess you drove into for Twenty dollars.Anytime any day or night, Anyhow we had this saying Call Bobby and the person would look at you in wonder 🤔🤠. And have pull your piece of junk to the House.❤

@@THROTTLEPOWER I take it back; got wrong impression with all the hulks. As video progressed, there were quite a few good cars and trucks. The asking prices for the decent and good quality cars was sobering.

1978 Buick Lasabre...$6,700., those are junk...I wouldn't buy it for more than $500. to run it over the salty roads winter for a year or two. Ugly car.
@@THROTTLEPOWER Yes, the '41 Ford..docs car...for 22k, best value of the day. Those ''86 and '87 C10 and GMC trucks listed for $6,500 to $6,700. (are basically field trucks, cleaned up, barely runs and drives) those are $1,500. trucks all day here in Texas with less rust and rot too. I was amazed at how high those truck prices were. Some of those 10k trucks, at that auction, we can buy here for 3 to 4k with less rust. Not to be negative..it's just what i'm used to here in Texas. I drive a 1989 GMC sierra, no rust, total solid bed, runs great, great compression...all rebuilt, new parts everywhere, it's like a new truck with old paint....I can only sell that for $800. to $1,500. max...people offer me $600.
I've seen better in a junk yard the one thay got hear half the shit is missing and have fun trying to find parts for it because if you put after market parts that don't fit right looks like cheap crap your just wasting your time and money and don't tell people it's just like new can't be and won't be its just junk scrap metal 😂

Depending Upon If It Had A V-8 Engine And 4-Speed Granny Low First Gear Gear. I Own One Like It That I Bought In 1979, And Paid $6,200 For Mine BRAND NEW. With NO Computer Bull Sheet On It And Room Enough Under The Hood That I Could Crawl Inside Of It.
