You can lead the life of riley if you construct a catchy pop tune that is, or was, picked up by Radio DJs. Do you want to spend 40-50yrs performing it, life is short!
Well the tune has been reused by the sugar babes, but it’s one of the most iconic songs so it’s great to hear it live, and I’ve heard it live for the last 42yrs!!!!
@@jamesshepherd4666 Catchy, I recall singing it when it came out. Iconic? In pop land? It's a fairly average pap ditty. Easy job one might suggest, singing the same tune for 40 plus yrs! Although is this a good use of time? You do get this phenomena with pop music, one track defines, or shapes an existence for a pop star.
@@miketomlin6040well that and a couple of other. But yes iconic and I still listening to it wether CD or live. But yes he has achieved a career from it although he has had issues with cash etc but now he’s with Gemma she’s his god send.
@@jamesshepherd4666 Yes, probably not as rich as some of the other new romantic type pop stars of the era, who had a few more hits. It's fascinating how people keep going essentially pumping out music designed for teenagers, when in their 60's, 70s, 80s. Long discussion of course.
@@miketomlin6040lol I doubt he produces tracks for teenager directly. I think his music is an acquired taste so probably that’s why most people at his live shows are in their 50s😹😹😹😹
