I'm 6'6", and I can tell you about the first time I got into a Mazda Miata. That was also the last time I got into a Mazda Miata, because I'm still stuck inside. It's been 6 months, someone please help me, I haven't showered since and I smell like a dead goat.
I mean most of the cars deemed his favorite fall within normal 20-40k for your low spec recently released cars. It's not like they had him testing out only super and hypercars
I am 6"4 and ForTwo is the only compact where space is not an issue. It is way roomier car than you may imagine. Far better than Mini, 500 and Fiesta :) It does lack rear seats, but that is not something I need
Hi, I'm 6'7" and also named Cody, so I feel ya dude! I'd also recommend Dodge Chargers! I have one and with the driver seat all the way back I am 100% comfortable and someone can still sit behind me without too much trouble :)
The Groovy Guitar Dude - Daily Guitar Lessons wow I always wanted to be taller but being overweight when you're young affects the growth of your bones , I am finally near fit but I'm stuck at 5'8 , this sucks ...
im 6'1 and my dad is 6'6 in German cars it is almost always the most comfortable thing also you can buy a Porsche for 20 000 but im not saying they are good in the budget
Tommy V gas guzzling trucks are such a bad idea they need like 60 bucks for a full tank of gas and it only last like 3-4 days it's a joke. While those compacts and sub compacts only need like 25 bucks and it last the whole week.
just letting you know being 6.5 or 6.10 doesnt get you any girl, height is important too, but as long as he's average like 5.11ft being taller doesnt mean much, other factors come first
what list? i see the person in real life instead and i immediately start looking at other things besides height, height doesn't make you god like, there are shorties who are the baddest mfawkers on the street nobody would mess with, all i said is after some point height doesnt matter
One one buys a sports car for the back seats lmao. For example, the Mustang has backseats but its unusable. Why? because insurance reasons. Insurance companies think 4 seats=family car=less money for manufacturers and people who buy insurance
Clayton Cortina Actually I have a 2015 mustang and leather seats in the rear are pretty good!! If you're tall, don't even think about it. I found that as long as you're under 6 feet (or are 6 feet) then you can fit comfortably. Leg room is a compromise, but what can you expect? If you wanted a party bus you should have bought a van, not a muscle car. Of course the hardest part is getting in and out, but you can move the seats all the way up and it isn't that difficult: you just gotta go straight into the back head first and THEN turn around to sit down.
back seats in my Mustang are VERY useful because they are there. Our other car is a family car so we use that when we go as a family, the Mustang is for me going to work primarily. However, in a pinch when I have to go pick up a kid or two I can do it. If it were a Corvette this would not be a possibility. The back seats make a Mustang ownable to me.
I too suffer the affliction of being too tall (and round) and surprised the Porsche 911 was acceptable for the taller driver! The Type F also was surprising to me. I think I'd really enjoy the V.W. beetle convertible as my car!
As another freak at 6"5' I'm telling you, you forgot about the most important criteria: visibility. It can be pretty dangerous when we can't see what's going on properly because our heads are much higher than what the designers had in mind.
Im going to expand on this. Im 6ft 4. First off, short people will tell you to get trucks or SUV's because they have no fucking idea what its like to actually be tall. So heres some real world for tall peeps: 1. Not every car will fit everyone the same size. It drastically matters if you have a long torso, or longer legs. 6ft 4 can have one longer then the other, this will make a huge difference. Longer legs = needs lower sitting seats. Longer Torso = less head room, might need to avoid sun roofs. 2. Lower seats = more leg room. 3. SUV's and Trucks have raised seats that dont sit low or bucket. I hate them, and will never own a truck or SUV again for this reason. Distance to the pedals is horribly close and uncomfortable for us long leg type. 4. Ive found for me (long legs) coupes work well. Mainly because the B pillar is pulled further back. 5. Heres some cars I fit great in: VW Golf GTI, Hyundai Genesis Coupe (The higher trim level lets you lower the seat), Mustang, Camaro, Nissan Maxima, Mazda 3 and 6.
Big FING Box 6'4" so damn lucky. I drive yard trucks at work....being big is clearly advantageous even though the ceiling is about 5'7" only the seat and steering wheel are generally big and there is lots of space more often than less space. There is a 6'4" guy who drives and he looks so big but comfortable in that cockpit lol.
ayy and im just 6 feet tall but for me lamboghinis and very short height cars r uncomfortable . I more prefer sitting in a Ferrari , Dodges or Mustang. Camaro is optional
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You so much for making this set of videos about cars for tall people! Im 6'5" as well, and this will help when I can finally afford a newer vehicle which once I should aim for...
im 6'4 and i loved the room in my 2011 toyota avalon. I also reccomend the 370z and hyundai genesis coupe if you want some more sportier versions, i traded my avalon in for the Z and i fit fine. it takes a minute or two to get that car seat adjusted right but once you do its great
DrMed Reaper it is meant for racing, and my dream car, the Dodge Demon comes from it and my mom has one and its awful in the passenger seat but it is head room and Cody would prob say least favorite. Like it is meant for 5”4’ like me. The back seat is OK
As a tall guy (6'10) I can tell you the only time you need to worry about back seat space is if you plan on getting laid in it.. in which case you better get a truck or a wagon or a van because otherwise it ain't gonna happen. Other than that, the back seat is useless behind you driving.
I drive a Ford Explorer XLT and at 5’11 I’m wayyyyy too tall, the head support is too short and I can barely see out the back window. So long story short even SUVS can be pretty awful for taller people.
I used to drive an E46. To be comfortable, I had to lean the seat all the way back. No one could sit behind me at any time, and I’m two inches shorter than your dad.
I'm 6'5" slim, with long legs like this guy. I have a 36" inseam. I used to have a 2013 mustang and also tooled around in a 2018 and found they had a lot of leg and head room inside. I had to put the seat down all the way, but they fit me better then any other GT/sports car. Also the visibility was excellent from most angles. It's a very good car for tall people.
Sports car, by definition, don't have back seats. What, are you going racing with the pit crew back there, no! Sports cars have a seat for the driver, and some have a seat for the navigator/mechanic.
I'm 14 too but mum measured me and I'm already 6ft, my 6'4 father has his head about 2cm away from hitting the roof in her 2018 Hyundai i30 or Elantra hatch if you are from America. Mum is like 5'2 though so she didn’t really understand when I asked if I could use my dads 2011 SUV instead when I get my L's. Edit: just a couple spelling and grammar issues
I cannot afford custom cars and im 7'1 but skoda yeti in EU is a great choice for tall people who would like to fit in a small SUV. Custom vette? Im jelous!
I'm 6'7" and I remember watching this video before buying my brz, I was terrified, but when I tried it I fitted pretty well... 3 years later I fit also with a racing FIA rollcage in it 😅 Still wondering what he did wrong to have that result...
I have to admit, at 6'9" and 260lbs; I've definitely imagined owning, let alone driving a sports car. Sadly for me, that concept is Considerably Situational. I've sat in the drivers seat of later model Mustang, Corvette, Camaro, Porsche, and even Ferraris. Also more current models as well. None gave me the ability to enjoy sitting in them without smashing my knees, or having b to tilt my head. Now... A classic, super charged ,1971 Chevelle; midnight blue with big tiers on the back... was Explicitly different. Big body, low Position seats, gave me not only the ability to drive comfortably... But a passenger could sit behind me while in it !! If the car advertises to fit more then 4 grown adults, find a friend 6'5" or taller. Put it to the test!
You're doing it wrong. First off, you have to state how the tester is tall. Is he a tall torso or a atall legs guy. I'm a 6'4" tall leg guy and I CANNOT safely drive the new gen Honda Fit. For me the Honda fit has horrid legroom. It's simply dangerous for me to drive. The only reason that I drove it was because there wasn't another Zipcar available at the garage. BTW..the Mini Cooper has GREAT front legroom. That car is simply a joy to drive, even if you have long legs. If you cant spring for an (overpriced) Mini, just get a VW Golf or Jetta. both carshave tons of legroom and the Golf handles really rather well. Not as good as the Mini, but in the Golf people wont laugh at the "tall man driving the Mini" either.
+MJake77 6'3 here but a lot of legs, I have more room into my wife Golf 6 than into her previous A3 sportsback. I don't like the windshield angle into the Mini, it is so in my face, I found it akward for cornering... :/
I'm 6'7" with mostly legs. Drive an '00 Civic Hatch and '05 Civic Coupe. No sunroofs in either. TONS of room!! The new Civics are larger on the outside, yet smaller on the inside. I do my best to send Honda messages, stating that they need to model their interiors like they did in the past. Most new cars are bullshit. They have tiny doors and crammed interiors, yet we are getting taller, makes no sense.
Just took the newest Civic out for a spin yesterday (using Zipcar). All that I have to say is....Honda is BACK!! The fit was great, legroom especially. The handling was so great that it made me drive like an asshole. The CVT is still annoying, but the lever is set back enough that the manual tranny should be a comfortable reach, even with the seat all the way back. Everything that was horrid about the 2012-2015 Civic has been fixed. Test drive the new Civic, you will not be disappointed.
Some tall people can afford a 911. The video is meant to test which vehicles work well for tall people, not which cars work well for people on a budget.
Is that mean I can't drive comfortably in a BRZ/GT86 with my 6'2 height? Damn it was my dream entry level sportscar. (Oh, and Golf 7 has pretty room for us, tall people.)
6 foot 4 here. I've never tried getting into a Miata, is it even possible at my height? Lol I drive a Blazer and even in that I have the seat all the way back.
We're in the process of making a second "cars for tall people" video and we actually tested a Miata. Not a whole lot of headroom in the car, but other than that, it was actually pretty good!
Very superficial test. I’m a 6’5” myself and know a thing or two about the ergonomic problems for tall people. I noticed that “pretty good” was given to cars where the hips did not have any support and such cars are not good for any journey that is longer than one hour. So a perfect car should have a seat extender and a separate regulation for the front part to provide that hip support necessary for longer journeys. Another problem for tall drivers is the steering wheel: either your knees touch the wheel or you can’t adjust it close enough and have to fully stretch your arms to reach it. The tall guy in the video didn’t show the legs movement when you switch your foot from acceleration to break pedal and that movement is important to understand if your knee will touch the bottom of the steering wheel. I have tested hundreds of cars and so far the best car for me is BMW 3 series GT with sport seats. By the way pano roof suits me fine there as well.
im 6'5 i daily a normal lancer 2004 driven 2010'S they have tons of space in the 2010 if i was backing up the seat at the max i wasn t even toutching the pedals... that's some freaking space right there
I'm 6'7" tall (38" inseam) and I have a 2018 Camaro SS 1LE. I have enough headroom to wear a helmet (no sunroof). Knee room was tight, but I designed a 2" extension for the steering wheel, and now I can track the car with confidence. I love it! I also have a 1973 Datsun 240Z and no one believes it when they see me get out. But it's actually very comfortable. I've frequently spent all day in it on road trips.
Same with my Audi S5. It actually fits because it's so low but when I get out of it I feel like I'm coming off the floor and my knees can't take it anymore.
Nah. I'm 6'5" and I hate trucks. There are plenty of cars out there that are very good for tall drivers. I've actually found that a lot of cars are roomier than trucks.
my dad is 6'4 and has really broad shoulders, we looked at buying a 2018 Mazda 2 and with the seat lowered all the way and all the way back he could barely get in (it actually took like 2 min for him to get in). We then realised that he could not sit straight and had to sit at an angle to fit between the passenger seat and the b pillar. Safe to say we didn't by that car.
Dinosaur District that sounds like something someone who's not very secure in his masculinity would say. Why should the bumdiddlers get all the cheap fun roadsters with massive tuning potential?
6’7” here all legs. A late model German sedan is really the only comfortable car outside of the Lincoln continental for tall people if you don’t like trucks.
Y’all forgot the most important thing... Visibility. If you cant see more than ten feet ahead of you unless your, sitting at an odds, bending your neck or looking down to see out the windshield, what good is it?
sailor blaufuss yea im 16 but why would you get a car known for there v-8s and get a v6 i mean go all the way and i do know about gas money cause i have a 2016 mustang gt California edition
