Did you notice that the scenes with water from the exhaust were all filmed in car washes? The trick is quite simple: fill the exhaust with water, add some soap if necessary and then start the engine, fergit is the miracle. HAHA
It's an old hot rodder trick to make a car louder. You get the exhaust hot and then pump cold water in. The thermal shock breaks down the fiberglass packing in the muffler making the car louder
