Full steam ahead, if you do find your GoPro and fix it up that would be brilliant.

I would use slab grade rock wool and concrete pored screed over the concrete foundations. The high density polystyrene is also an option. It just take a bit of head scratching to make it all come together. Your doing good. My comment is not a criticism.

Do you mean over the block and beam floor?

Hey Aiden, why did you choose block and beam for your cart lodge? Will you be doing the same with your barn or going for a slab? Dont forget to show us how you put in your soil pipes, membrane and insulation! Loving the videos - stop working and catch up with the editing! ;-)

Hi Jenny, so if you have trench fill foundations over 1.5m then the structural engineers automatically specify block and beam. It's all to do with ground conditions and any trees. I could have insisted on a slab but I might as well have gone for a raft at that point for the whole lot. I was happy to keep it trench fill and block and beam cause I'll easily be able to convert it at a later date if needed. You will see what happened in a couple of weeks with the barn 😜

Please film the rest with a fixed time laps of it then if you can’t physically do it! Good job 👍

I've been using my phone to record which has a smashed open lense so I can't leave it exposed to the elements, plus the battery runs out quickly when I time lapse. I did get a new camera for Xmas which should improve the quality but it's not waterproof and I haven't managed to use it just yet. Maybe I can dig out my old go pro for exposed time lapse stuff but I suspect it will record at a different frame rate and f up the editing. I'll try my best but it's easier said than done 😬

I’m finally all caught up! Looking good! One of those cheap £30-40 GoPro copies off eBay/Amazon would probably pay dividends. Can either leave it time lapsing or stick a chest mount on and film without having to worry about holding the camera all the time. Enjoying the progress! Whereabouts in Suffolk are you? (Roughly?) I was born and bred in Kesgrave (outskirts of Ipswich), my parents now live in a village near Hadleigh.

Nice one! Was you binge watching them? 😁 How did you come across my channel? I do actually have an original gopro hero, just need to dig it out and figure out how to use it again. Not sure how long the battery would last. It would be handy if I can find the waterproof case too. Yeah I'm not too far from Ipswich 👍

@@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT Yeh I went back to the start and watched them all. Suffolk is a nice part of the world, it’ll be lovely when it’s done! I can’t actually remember how I found it, I *think* I’d watched a ‘restoration couple’ (great channel btw) video on timber framing as he’s building his timber frame workshop currently and doing all the joinery himself etc. and I think your timber frame tool making vid was suggested. The standard case then comes with the GoPros is waterproof, I’m sure there’s cheap ones on eBay if you haven’t got the case any more, especially for the original one. You might actually be as well getting a brand new knock off one for the money they cost, a friend of mine had one (think it was called an SJ4000 or something like that, probably a newer model by now though) but it was every bit as good as a GoPro and only about £40 for the whole kit with cases and attachments and batteries and all sorts.

Hey buddy, thanks for watching. I only really do videos on stuff that I'm doing myself and I doubt I'll be doing a dry valley system for many years to come. I have taken a break from RU-vid for the past couple of months, if I start up again and get to a point where I'm getting free products then of course I'd do more things that are outside my usual scope. Sorry I can't help this time mate

You’re vents are running into the block and beam …. Need to run inside about 6 inches lower …
@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT
@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT 2 года назад
The bottom opening is inline with the bottom of the beams and the slips but are still below the blocks. Probably not ideal but are still serving their purpose. I can't find anything on the net that recommends they should be lower, is there anywhere you can point me in the direction of? I doubt it will be my last self build so if I employ anyone to do stuff for me in the future knowing all the standards is helpful
