Hi. Great video. Just a point though. You have an electric EHPS power steering pump so do not use ATF 4. Read just below in manual where it gives you 2 options. Thanks Bill

My 2012 is the same pump. So basically 3x10mm bolts hold it in place, one accessed from the top with a 10mm ratchet spanner, and 2 from the bottom with 10mm socket. The T40 bolt can be replaced with a normal bolt for ease of tightening back up. I think the hardest thing to do was get the rubber hoses off. I managed this by using mulgrips on the pipe clips to pull the flanges together and then use a big wide screwdriver to lever the pipes off, having never been moved for 11 years they were stuck in place. To get the pipes back on I put some vassleline on the pipe inlets to slide the pipes back on with the mulgrips compressing the pipe clips again. Took me about 3 hours to do because I had a real battle getting the rubber pipes off. I got them off from below by tilting the pump. It was easy once sump guard was off on ramps and using steps to work from above. It used about 850ml of new oil. Self bled as soon as I put the new oil in. Great video, gave me the confidence to attempt it. I was quoted £1050 to have it done at a garage. I bought a brand new pump for £405 from euro car parts. Thanks, well done. Very helpful. Sorry, meant to say a bit more about the T40 bolt. Anyone attempting this should test there T40 tool before starting as there is limited space between the bolt head and the radiator fan cowling. So you need one that you can get in the space. I never had a ratchet and socket with a T40 bit but I think that would be too big for the gap that you have in front of the bolt head. My T40 was like an 'L' shaped allen key. Thinking about it now, what would have worked was a T40 bit and a 5 or 6mm ratchet spanner.

Hi mine showed the warning while driving " power steering service required " when I got to the mechanics they topup fluid which was a bit low, then they drove the car for less than 100 metres then the steering got completely stiff . What could be the problem? Any help will be highly appreciated.

How did you diagnose that the pump needed replaced? My 2014 started throwing a “Service power steering” error and the CEL lit up. No DTC codes are present and the fluid level is good, but I have zero power assist in the steering.

mine was leaking so was very obvious fault. some ideas for finding the fault...if yours isn't leaking i'd start on the electronic side to check you have power to it / fuses etc. check levels warm (maybe bleed it), I guess your fluid has never been changed so might be worth exploring a change, check no fluid anywhere on body of pump for any leaks.

Hi could you please tell me where you purchased this from. As I have been quoted £584 for a reconditioned one from somewhere in Lancashire. And £620 for another one elsewhere. Plus they want me to return the faulty one . Love to hear from you. Regards Alan

Thanks for the video. I was debating on paying someone to do mine, but after watching your video. I did it myself in like 45mins with no problems. Rockauto.com has the best prices on these if anyone needs this done.
