Putting the old shovel and blisters to the side I went out and got an Excavator . This is an overlook of the Carter CT10 and my experience with it. Big shoutout to @melbournemachinery1027 for the great service and quality machine
Hello from the UK, I have a "pre-loved" CT10, had 80 hrs according to the hour meter and it was about a year old. Acquired from a self builder. Yours has some interesting differences to mine - not least mine is Caterpillar yellow!. The left hand switch, next to the hours meter, is the hydraulics lock on mine, disables the controls. Complete newbie so thanks for the content.
Hello from Australia! Thank you for the comment, I have seen those yellow ones, at least while researching initially. I am going to have to check that switch and see if it disables the hydraulics. The hour meter on these is a little dodgy as in if you leave the key on but its off the hour meter still ticks over. About 2 of my hours are from that, so never no your 80 hour one maybe significantly less 👍
oh, and while they still move freely, get rid of the dome head hex bolts on the controls box. They are made of cheese and - with UK weather - seize so replace with some proper (not sure it rains too much where you are?!)
Wish it rained more. but we get allot of frost. Ill watch out for those, thank you. Hopefully its not too bad as its under cover when not in use... car port so not fully protected
change engine oil every 75hrs. hydraulic oil every 300hrs and it will last a lifetime am on over 500hrs on mine. amazing machines. be extremely religous about these oil change time yeah.
