Love this FAIR! Cannot wait for it come back to Lichfield this year for one FINAL Bow! I am going to miss it SO MUCH! I have gone to it about 8 times over the last 10 years! Hope to see you both Charlotte and Shawn when I go at the end of July when it comes there!

Its actually emotional watching this - this is probibly the only fair you could go to with the older members of your family and it would bring back so many memories of the fair from when they were young. Please someone save our history and get this into a park somewhere!

Dude, I'm more into mountain biking than roller coasters but we came across your channel after my daughter had a trip to Thorpe park recently. You know what Shawn, I remember when Carters was on the front lawn at Towers and when you think about it it would make for a perfect permanent spot for the Fair the end up. Iconic Fair with the Alton Towers history, wow. It is Sad that Joby has had to make this hard decision and I cant wait to be there on the 16th of October for there final night. Hey Shawn, with fairs like this being open late, why do UK theme parks (Alton Towers especially) close so early? Is it business related, community related, or something else?

The swing ride operator was amazing!

It looks similar to the old ringling bros & Barnum and Bailey circus that used to be around. Very similar rides and games just a bit taller as America tends to have bigger rides. Honestly it was old fashioned fun until the 2000s when the circus finally sold out. Most of everything was sold piecemeal except the circus props as the remains went to Coney Island to create a permanent attraction with attached freak show. The animals moved to sanctuaries and zoos. I believe the Ferris wheel of the old circus is with a traveling carnival that tours the US. I know the old wild mouse coaster found a home in the north east. It’s what they do and what parks can pick up. I know a few coasters were destroyed due to age.

Carters is such an amazing fair. Hope whatever the future holds for them, it is good.

Real sorry to hear that fun fair is going out of business. I just attended my first fun back in the United States. The company is called Big Rock Amusements out of Michigan, and they came to my home town in Kentucky for a weeklong fun fair. If it wasn't for you and Charlotte filming all these fun fairs, I probably would have never taken the time out of busy schedule to attend one. So thank you.

Always good when a fun fair has toilets and a bonus if they are clean. Just remember to take some toilet roll with you coz they never have paper

Having rode it what the camera doesn't show is the waltzer thing is incredibly fast for a steam ride, and incredible fun! Only one I hated of there's was the rotating car one where the cars move to prevent going upside down, can't remember it's name but it made me feel so ill after.

What will happen to all the fairground equipment? Maybe it can have a permanent location somewhere ? Centre Parks ?

You should check out the Knutsford May Fair which is on until sunday

These traditional rides are so very important for English Heritage, I think they should get a large grant from Lottery funding or English Heritage. It would be a real shame if it dwindled away.

This heritage that National lottery money should be used for , permanent attraction National trust property so sad our heritage disappearing ☹☹

Nice looking steam fair and what history there is to this place. I love all those vintage rides and they certainly bring back memories when I was young and my late father would take me on some of those rides as a kid. I live not too far, (about 18 miles), from Strumpshaw Steam Museum which is equally a fascinating historic place if you ever come down to Norfolk and Great Yarmouth again. It’s well worth a visit. Nice funfair vlog Shawn and Charlotte 👍
