Could imagine being trapped and know that you are fucked, or abandonded and suddenly you and a few more is all that is left, such panic that will be. So many people this have happend to'its insane. You can be the best warrior ever but if your leader can't lead, you are so screwed.
Astonishing work, sir! Beautifully made! But...for history's sake, there are several facts to consider, according to Polibius's and Livius's accounts. Please forgive me for taking the liberty to point out the following: 1) Allobroges Gauls were allied to Hannibal. He was attacked by Graiocelii and Ceutrones. 2) 50% of Hannibal's army was made of Celts. 3) The engagement depicted in the video took place while Hannibal was *already* crossing the Alps; he didn't suffer any opposition during the approaching march through the Isère Valley. 4) The battle took place on Col du Petit Mont-Cenis, on the very top of it: I have been there myself several times, it is a narrow mountain meadow without a single tree, with a precipice on the right side and cliffs on the left side. It is a causeway where an army and its baggage train can drive only in a tight single column and is just perfect for an ambush. 5) The strength of the Gaulish mountaineers attacking the Carthaginians was hardly superior to 2-3000 men. There is no place to hide or muster a larger force, on that highland. Therefore the battle was a minor engagement, albeit potentially disastrous because the ambush was meant to disperse and capture all of the Carthaginians' baggage and pack animals. 6) Polibius reckons Hannibal's losses around 1000 men, as correctly shown in the video; but he lost hundreds of mules and carts, with most of the victuals, and this put him in a dire situation, stuck as he was on a high mountain pass, freshly covered by the first snowfalls, and with the road blocked by a landslip. This could have been the end of his campaign and of his army as well, and both were saved by local Celtic tribes (Segusii) who managed to remove the fallen rocks and opened the way down from the mountains. So, as you can see, history is often fascinating; I hope you find these facts interesting!
Hello Aditu Laudis.Could you make a video between the Roman legionaries and the barbarian populations (I would prefer Italialians) against each other? Or always the Roman legionaries against the ancient Franks or the Mongols in a somewhat imaginative and interesting battle to find out who would win between the Romans and the Mongols or the ancient Franks. BYE BYE.
Very interesting, very well done and I appreciated the whole as a war gamer. But is it historically totally false if you use Livy and Polybius narrations. The attack probably came from one sine of the road, and Hannibal had positioned himself and some troops above the point of attacks. Some modern authors think that the attacks were more harassement and pillage than a massive attack aimed at destroying or blocking Hannibal.
Hey, I appreciate the comment. I did mention that the video may not reflect the full details of the battle in my video description. I hope you enjoyed it nonetheless.
Whilst I enjoyed the show it could have had a bit more narration as I was watching a lot of mayhem without knowing who was who for long periods of time. Otherwise a good spectacle. 🇦🇺

Numidians weren’t actually black, they had a tanned brown-ish colour similar to that of the Carthaginians. The in-game models are historically correct.
