The last year (july / 2019) I had a beautiful 1 month experience (to be carthusian father and know the carthusian life) in the Charterhouse of San José de Córdoba. Was one of the most important and beauty experiences of my life, I was very happy there. Maybe I will enter the next year or 2022.

You ask about Matins and Complain prayer.. Go to a Christian Book Shop, ask for the "Roman Catholic Divine Office" prayer Book. Or write to some Monastery near you, and ask if they have it on CD. They will help you find it.

Also, I see that one of the signs says "hvala" which in Servo-Croatian means "thank you"... Is it in the former Yugoslavia? I didn't know of any Chartusian monastery there... Anyway, thanks again. There is the Carthusian Monastery - Pleterje (Slovenia). Established 1403. At 7:09 is written: "Zone of Silence, Thank you." This is Slovenian. Knowing the area, I can say that it is from Pleterje.
Some of the views appear to be of the Grande chartreuse in France and other Charterhouses. Parkminster Charterhouse in Sussex in the UK did not have electricity when I was there in 1962. The light in the choir and in the cells came from oil lamps.

perhaps the Carthusians are the most "concentrated christian monchs", dedicating their life in closest dedication in their prayer to the unknown god. No contact to the exterior world which had disturbed their prayer and dedication. Therefor those monchs committ themself to total silence, a life long, only talking during their prayers. Repeatingly enthusiastic human beeings try to follow their path of silence. But only a very few one find their way in their poor, small cell through this inner desert where their soul fights a bitter fight for surviving.- You might understand the unknown god only with your heart, in complete dedication. This way is one of many. There is no strict definition what the wright way could be. Nobody knows that way. french philospher Blaise Pascal stated: All our problems come because we don´t stay at home.
