Santos Dumont designed, built and flew the first airship balloons with a gasoline engine. This merit is guaranteed to him internationally by winning the Deutsch Prize in 1901. Santos Dumont was also the first to take off aboard an airplane powered by a gasoline engine. He is the father of the aviation. Not just and dirible operador. This year the Magic Kings gave me in their day the 'Santos' 100 Large, exactly as the version of the vid. But the real important is that is turning at the second !!!, in my wrist, of course. It is amazing because is a clon.
Excellent review of a fantastic watch. I purchased the 33mm Midsize I've only got a 17.5 cm wrist and found it a better fit than the large which looked to big and felt slab like. The Deployment clasp is superb and feels like a smaller part of the watch in it own right.

I always wondered what people see in a Cartier that makes it so special. The Cartier name definitely carries prestige, but looking at this watch, it looks very simple, albeit elegant. An Omega, Rolex or Breitling are in roughly the same price field and they all look more practical and distinctive than a Cartier. I would even go as far as to say that something look a Cerutti, Seiko or Raymond Weil, all medium-end luxury watches, look more complex than a Cartier. What really makes the Cartier tick in some people, I would not know. It is a lovely watch, but is it on par with its competitors? That's just my opinion.
Sherif El Sharkawy i agree with what you say but, cartier watches are usually just luxury items but the santos has history, it was the first wrist watch of all time
The Cartier Santos has more heritage than any Omega, Rolex or Breitling watch. It was the first men's wristwatch (And also the first pilot's watch) made.
