You got it wrong about Randy still being a hippie. You see, he's still an idiot, but not a hippie. It's like squares and rectangles; all hippies are idiots but not all idiots are hippies. Also, gotta love how these hippies realistically circle around to establishing normal society again when they fully think through their long term plans to take down the man. As a stoner but not a hippie, it's always fun to point out how their plans to rebuild society end up being exactly the same as the society they destroyed, just with different names for things like "public safety brigade" instead of "police force".

This entire episode was based off something that happened in my hometown.

I found this South Park episode quite funny, but to be fair, humans hide behind a lot of conceptual labels in attempt to rationalize and justify inaction and passivity. And there are a lot of contrived and engineered 'conceptual-networks', cult urally conditioned as being "progress" (concepts built of building blocks of 'smaller' concepts, which comprise the overall conceptual structure of which they are part - such as, a programmatical element/aspect of a computer game, is a concept within the larger concept that defines the game). Those that seek (egotistical) con troll over humanity, have many tricks to pacify, and to get people immersed in thinking they're somehow creating change by regurgitating some narrative that was fed to them. Mode rn cult ure is much like an umbrella-cult comprised of a bunch of 'smaller' cults - a cult comprised of "micro-cults". Con ditioning humanity to fill in a bubble on a multiple choice quiz, rather than utilizing critical thinking and discernment - rather than looking and imagining beyond the engineered possibilities that were programmed/conditioned as if they were the parametric scope that wholly encompasses reality/"reality". As if something such as the English language existed before the Universe, and the Universe and reality are contained, and derived wholly from within its confines and constraints - rather than the English language being a tiny speck of a perceptual and conceptual filter through which to translate, process, and compart-mentalize information.

This episode was actually my introduction to Slayer

Another classic great episode to point people at when they get too anti-Cartman. Without Eric, SP would have nuked itself, at the very least. That definitely would have killed Stan Kyle and Kenny as well. And of course also the cohesion of showing more substance to Cartmans hippie hate besides the one off lines previously used in episodes.

There’s another episode that’s very similar to this episode, but instead of South Park being overrun by hippies, they get overrun by homeless. And OMG, Randy commits MURDER in the homeless episode! 😱

Oh! What an episode 🤣 I don’t know if it is a reference to death metal, progressive metal, non binary metal o the metal gender it feels itself, but there’s a big reference in “ Ginger cow” (S17 E6).

This is one of my favorites with Slayer being my favorite band. As to what genre of metal Slayer falls under, they're one of the Big 4 of Thrash Metal, the other 3 bands being Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax.
